Bernie just tweeted that the Corporate Whores remark was inappropriate and not aceptable

I don't do the Twitter thing, so you'll have to look it up.

But heard it on Morning Joe when Clair McCaskill was castigating him for not apologizing and one of the hosts interrupter her to inform her of that.

"Well, he should have spoken out last night at the rally" was her response.

Like yeah, he's going to embarrass a guy from the podium like that.

Anyway, Bernie has disavowed it, so hopefully that will put Manufactured Hurt Feelings #606 to rest.

Dr. Song's comment was inappropriate and insensitive. There's no room for language like that in our political discourse.

this is one time when i don't agree with sanders. i don't think he should have apologized for this and i don't think it was an inappropriate or insensitive comment. dr. song was making an important point and we pussyfoot around the reality too much with the soft obsequious language.

dems ARE a bunch of corporate whores. we need to come to terms with that and try to get something done.

Or just look at the post right before this one.

As I said, for years that term has been used here regularly....especially pertaining to the GOP but sometimes to Democrats too.

Did you get all upset and righteous when Cheney would be referred to as a corporate whore? Did you stand up and say "I disagree with Cheney but it is sexist and crude to use the term corporate whore to describe him"....?

If you ever did, you have every right to criticize this. If not...well

Apr 2016

.... right?

See, I don't think its an appropriate term to use for any female democratic candidate. Bernie has agreed with me.

The guy who used that term THIS TIME, is not some poster on DU. He was a speaker at a Bernie campaign event.

We've already learned that many Bernie supporters thought it was ok for anonymous DU members to call Hillary that.

Today, Bernie supporters are claiming, very clearly, that its perfectly ok for a speaker at a Bernie event to use that term too.

So, I hope Bernie listens to his supporters and starts using the terms they want him to use.

even as we speak, and we will know the moment it drops from the end of the assembly line.

I have to say, though, that when I hear somebody say something like "whore" or "asshole," I don't immediately think, "OMG!!! They're talking about me!!!"

And when it comes to public officials who sell out to corporate interests, there are few better examples than McCaskill, who is nothing more than a Republican in a donkey suit.

While trying to cast one in bad light, it draws attention to what and who the "corporate Democratic whores" are.

And the word is pluralized, meaning more than one.

Corporatocrisy: is a term used to refer to an economic and political
system controlled by corporations and/or corporate interests

That is reality. We are called it often enough. From the age of 12 for the rest of our life. I get as a man you do not get it, but throw whore at a woman, and it is going to sound like you called a woman a whore.

Which is so unfair? That a man has to understand throwing whore out to a woman, is going to come off sounding like you are calling a woman a whore? Or, women being called whores so often, that regardless, throwing whore out at a woman is going to sound like you are calling a woman a whore?
