And since I can't make "corporate whore" fit the title, I assume anyone reading this is aware the speaker was referring to the political whores who sell out to the healthcare/insurance industry. It's a typically used phrase in political discourse, a lot like "media whores" who take Clinton talking points and use them to distract from positive developments in the Sanders campaign, like last night's tremendous rally, or negative developments in the Clinton campaign, like racist remarks, horrible foreign policy decisions, tainted fundraising, and criminality with regards to her emails.

Amid a firestorm of criticism from black community leaders, Hillary Clinton distanced herself Tuesday from a skit with Mayor de Blasio that included a tone-deaf racial joke about “ CP time.”
“Well, look, it was Mayor de Blasio’s skit,” Clinton said in an interview with Cosmopolitan.com
“He has addressed it, and I will really defer to him because it is something that he’s already talked about.”
The phrase “CP time” — which stands for “colored people time” — is a negative stereotype implying black people are habitually late.

Whore has different uses and definitions, so you can't assume what someone "meant" when they use it. You have to see the context. And the context of corporate whore is not about sex, it's about debasing yourself by doing something unworthy for money. It's about selling yourself for money, not physically, but your soul and your standards. And in the corporate sense, it means taking money from corporations and doing favors for them in return. There is nothing sexy or sexual about that.

I was wrong in an earlier thread when I said a male prostitute is called a whore...there are a lot of other terms for that, but not typically whore...but the definition of whore relating to men is a man who is whoring himself by using prostitutes.
Now the final usage of whore that is bothering everyone here is the female whore who is not a prostitute, but a "loose" woman (meaning any woman who is not married and enjoys sex...well I guess that makes me a whore
). In no way is corporate whore based on that definition.
So those of you who want to always read this word in the context of a loose woman are surely free to do so (and some of you have to turn everything into an attack on women), but in today's attitude toward sex, I don't even think it applies any more, and it is pretty obvious that it's usage in this context is not about "loose women". You can stop using it yourself, but I don't think you have the right to censor everyone else's use of the word just because you tend to be hyper sensitive about it.
BTW, I tried to find a synonym for corporate whore that might offend you less...and I can't find one. So sorry...you are not going to stop it's use.
Keep on freaking out over a political term that has been around forever and is based on the word prostitute when used to prostitute your soul, not your body for money.
Nobody used the word whore by itself. It was corporate whore. whole different meaning.
Nobody is throwing Bernie under the bus for trying to soothe your faux wounded feelings. He's just a nice and respectful guy and doesn't want to see this causing conflict.
... and its application to Hillary.
No one who supports Hillary thinks the "CP time" is a term that should be used, or applied to anyone. And no one is suggesting that the Hillary campaign adopt that term or defend its use as ACCURATE.
There are plenty of folks on DU who think Bernie's campaign should use that term and apply it to Hillary.
Maybe Bernie should do what his supporters clearly wish he would do and adopt that term.
