According to a member of this board Bernie Sanders has apologized for the "whore remark":

Should he have apologized?

he did not say it, nor did a member of his staff say it on his behalf. he was free to slam it as inappropriate discourse, which it sounds like he did.

i am not a fan of people apologizing for stuff they have no ownership of. just as i would not expect hillary to apologize for tweeters calling bernie a misogynist, although i would expect her to call it out.

of others. Even here at DU, I see posts where someone claims they would never vote for the nominee based on the way the supporters here at DU post.

Now THAT is truly W.T.F.!!!!

Who on earth with more than 2 braincells would allow internet trash-talking stop them from joining those going to the polls to stop the Republican Party from having full control of this nation's future? It really strikes me as a sentiment only a GOP operative would be here to encourage.

that it is going on. This is DU's 3rd prez primary for Dems, and its 4th prez election cycle - the trolling is far worse this cycle than we've had in the past. Unfortunately, the heated rhetoric has become so commonplace and acceptable (as long as it is against the other candidate) it has also become more influential. Just as GOP strategists intended.

I call the affliction seventhsonitis - seventhson was our resident troll in 2003-4. He fooled a lot of people by posing as a Kucinich then Dean supporter always directing heated attacks on Kerry. He had a great run here and then exposed himself on election night and sent exceedingly cruel private messages to some of our gay activist members.

Apologizing is taking ownership of someone else's words. No reason to do that. It simply gives the other side a few more rounds of ammunition.

an apology. He may not have heard Dr. Song's introduction before he came on stage and thanked him for it. Case closed.

But wide open: Just imagine if the things said here by Bernie supporters were on a national stage. They are. I would really like to know how many silent readers we have, including political writers, how many visitors peer into the BSers' seething cauldron and leave, to pass their observations about Sanders supporters on to others... How many millions of searches on Sanders' name bring up unseemly remarks from his supporters that he is not in a position to repudiate?

There are a lot of nice people also supporting Sanders, but IMO those who associate with people who say these thingsm have nothing to complain about if they are mistaken for what they associate with.

Now instead of everyone talking about his huge crowd, or his visit to the Verizon picket line, they are talking about that horrible remark.

And his supporters cheering..... unseemly is the NICEST way to put it.
