Hillary apology questionnaire

Given that some Black people were uncomfortable with Hillary's participating in a joke in which Black people were referred to as "Colored People" and their lack of being able to be on time for anything was joked about, should Hillary apologize?

The Blacks were upset with it. Of course if I'm wrong, I will re-evaluate the situation.

I am about to see the best hope for the representation of my politics lose to a politician I don't respect and don't trust.

See? The whole honesty thing bites me in the ass again.

7. IWhat's the "smear"? Are you uncomfortable with calling Black people "colored"?

If so, you should urge Hillary to apologize for her participation.

That would be the honest thing to do.

9. If it was in poor taste, why is it cool with you that Hillary didn't say it was in poor taste?

She KNEW the script for the comedy routine there, Dan.

Look, I didn't think it was a big deal and if you look, you will see I never commented on it.

But compared to the "whore" thing, I have two honest comments:

1) Unlike the above, Hillary actually was directly involved with foreknowledge of the joke in bad-taste
2) She blamed it on de Blasio in a rather "un-brave" way

11. Because it was a scripted comedy skit, not a campaign rally.

Bernie's got a surrogate calling Hillary a whore -- as an insult, not as a joke -- in front of thousands of screaming fans.

When you figure out the difference between the two, you will be on your way to understanding why your candidate is losing so badly.

12. First of all, I doubt that Sanders knew and approved of that phrase.

Second of all, a comedy sketch in poor taste is still in poor taste.

Now if you are talking about political effects and that kind of reality, then I understand what you are saying to some degree.

It was less "politic" if you will, less "professional" in the sense of polished politician performances. That is what you are driving at and you have a point.

However that does not really get at the display of outrage that people are claiming. Nor does it address Bernie's personal responsibility for the phrase and Hillary's lack of. So I will repeat one thing I already said: Hillary was directly involved in the CP time joke and Bernie probably had no knowledge that Song was going to drop the "Whore" bomb.

13. I agree. But he's drawing that kind of energy and that kind of supporter. And he knows it.

And he's been setting the tone himself, with the unqualified comments, with the lies about the fossil fuel industry money, and all that.

ALERTER'S COMMENTS

More shit stirring from this poster. It's getting a little late in the election season to be trashing and bashing our candidates. The politician who actually told the joke is taking responsibility for it. This is nothing but petty, childish, divisive flamebait.

You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu Apr 14, 2016, 10:39 AM, and the Jury voted 0-7 to LEAVE IT.

Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: It's getting a little late in the morning for the alerter to waste my time.

Pretty good rule of thumb: Is the defendant's Transparency Page showing? No. Leave.

I wonder if the same is true of the alerter?
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Stop it. Just stop it. Everything in General Discussion: Primaries (particularly the front page) is childish today. This is not a jury issue.
