Clinton and Corning

http://www.investors.com/politics/capital-hill/the-real-clinton-scandal-it-might-be-what-she-did-legally/

The real scandal could lie elsewhere — namely, in what some of her e-mails reveal about her willingness use her position of power to help her corporate friends and campaign contributors.

........ Clinton “and her State Department aides were in frequent contact about various issues
with Corning’s CEO and the company’s top liaison.”

“Also, where are we w Corning?” she asked Kris Balderston, a longtime aide, in a 2010 e-mail. “Can you consult w EAP and E to find out what we can do?”

Another sent in early 2012 shows that Clinton was “directly involved in a trade secrets dispute involving Corning and the Chinese government.”

.... Clinton appeared to be offering special attention to a company that also happened to be a big contributor to her political campaigns and to the Clinton Foundation.

Corning executives and employees have contributed hundreds of thousands to support her political campaigns. Corning has also donated $100,000 to the Foundation and given Hillary $225,000 for a speech in 2014.

This sort of crony capitalism is what has propelled the campaigns of Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump, who have tapped into a deep river of public resentment over the fact that big business can buy access and special favors, while the little guy has to play by the rules.

Worse for Clinton, Corning also managed to avoid paying federal income taxes while Clinton was helping them out at State.

Bernie Sanders lists Corning as one of “America’s Top 10 Corporate Tax Avoiders,”
saying that “From 2008 to 2012, not only did Corning pay no federal income taxes, it received a $10 million tax refund from the IRS, even though it earned more than $3.4 billion in U.S. profits during those years.”

Many of them seem to be relatively well off and could give a damn about corruption, inequality or the poor, which is why they support her.

This is just another reason why the left shouldn't support her in the general, if she gets the nomination (which is likely at this point). I know many don't agree because of how bad the Republicans are, but the left has to have a breaking point with the Democratic Party. Let her win it with her arrogant suburban bourgeois supporters, and good luck with that.

Get the

ready.

To see her surrogates and endorsers have to explain away this mess (instead of just spewing lies about Sanders) would be entertaining, to say the least.

...is that I can not imagine Bernie ever being guilty of such an abuse of power.
