Bernie Sanders Repudiates Whores Comment At His Rally But The Damage Is DoneBy Jason Easley on Thu, Apr 14th, 2016 at 10:55 am
Dr. Song sounded like an insensitive extremist, and that, in a nutshell, is the overarching problem that the Sanders campaign is facing. In open primaries, Independents can be courted with outsider rhetoric. In a series of closed Democratic primaries, in a party where women are the majority, comments like Dr. Songs lose votes for the candidates that they support.
Song was criticizing Democrats in a closed Democratic primary. Needless to say, this is not a winning strategy. His comments only fanned the doubts of Democrats who believe that Sen. Sanders is not a real Democrat.
In practical terms, Bernie Sanders isnt going to win closed Democratic primaries without Democratic votes. It is also not good to enrage the very superdelegates that Sen. Sanders needs if he is going to win the Democratic nomination by calling them corporate whores.

(28,270 posts)Call all democrats that don't support you whores right before a closed, democrat only primary that comprises more female voters than males.
Pure genius...if you want to lose badly anyway!

(4,667 posts)While in this campaign, the same firms that likely were helping another candidate in 2008 seem to have switched to their former opponents team.
maybe they got a referral?

(4,667 posts)way The Annointed candidate is being crammed down the country's collective throat, not unlike a force feeding session at Abu Ghraib.
Also, Hillary is trying to wrap herself in her femaleness but females are rejecting her as a phony.
Sure lots of people feel as if there must be a better word- But the core idea is unfortunately too true to just dismiss.
This is what happens when a candidate sells out SO THOROUGHLY.
All the spin in the universe cannot cover up the mess cause by selling out as she has.
They are outraged that things have not proceeded according to plan. But, its what happens when your candidate is not a moral person - and is driven by money and power and not a desire to serve the country. (Unless one means serving up the country on a silver platter to be carved up into feudal fiefs.)

(45,107 posts)corporate whores? I'm not offended by the term corporate whores, I am offended that we elect politicians to look out for the interests of the people and then they become corporate whores.

(2,348 posts)You can't write off everyone who disagrees with Bernie's particular way of solving issues as being beholden to big money. There is more than one progressive way of addressing the issues we face, and reducing it all to money not only ignores reality, it alienates a large number of people who don't like being preached to about purity by someone who is also ethically dubious, by his own standard.

(1,732 posts)No Bernie supporters will change their minds and few Clinton supporters will change theirs. If anything, it'll sway a few Independents who are undecided Bernie's way. If Hillary wants to be President, she needs to toughen up and quit playing victim all the time. We don't need a President who's constantly whining when someone calls them out.
