NYC first lady: 'Bernie is getting desperate'

Washington (CNN)Chirlane McCray, wife of New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, said Thursday that Bernie Sanders is "desperate" in his pursuit of the Democratic presidential nomination and that will likely be on display at CNN's debate in Brooklyn.

"I think the tone will be respectful but I think that Bernie is getting desperate, so I expect that we'll hear the volume be pumped up a little bit," she told CNN's Alisyn Camerota on "New Day."
McCray, who like her husband, is supporting Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, dismissed the idea that there is an enthusiasm gap between the Vermont senator and the former secretary of state.
"I don't think there's an enthusiasm gap. I'm really happy to see this enthusiasm and all the support from all those people," she said. "Hillary has a commanding lead. She has more states, more votes and she's doing very well."
"She's got a bold vision and people are really ready to support her," McCray added.
She also had sharp words for Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, who has frequently been at odds with de Blasio. The senator criticized de Blasio's support for teachers' unions Wednesday at a CNN town hall as an embodiment of the worst of "New York values."
"I just think Ted Cruz is awfully confused. He thinks he's running against Bill de Blasio, mayor of New York City," McCray said. "He doesn't even know who he's running against."
"New Yorkers have already told Ted Cruz to go home," McCray added. "Enough said."

First it was for attention, which is why he ran.

Then it was for votes, which is why he pandered.

Now it's for a legacy, which is why he's climbing into the gutter.

Can it.

For example:

*Vote totals are not actual votes cast, but are state convention delegates won. State convention delegates choose national delegates in May.

Despite the suspicions of the Sanders supporter, the fact that caucus results are not included in the popular vote tally does not appear to make much of a difference in the final result. Despite overwhelming victories in caucus states such as Washington and Maine, Sanders gains only about 130,000 votes. That means Clinton is ahead by 2.4 million votes, rather than 2.5 million votes.

Including caucus results, Clinton leads Sanders by almost 2.4 million raw votes, 9.4 million to just more than 7 million, according to The Green Papers.

Rather than apologize you double down, and then it end with a fake showing of bonhomie:

Good day sir.

Typical for you and your ilk.

She's ahead 18-16 in terms of states won, if you flip NV it's still 17-17 going into the next round of states.

the demographics and type of elections were his stronghold. Things are about to change and Bernie cannot catch up...and Hillary will reach the magic number of total delegates, so a contested convention will be out of the question.
