"What the f*uck do you think you're doing? I know who that whore is. I know what she's here for. Get her out of here."
From the book :The Agenda: Inside the Clinton White House" by Bob Woodward. p. 245 - Hillary to President-Elect Clinton as she spots him talking to one of his reputed girlfriends at a going away celebration the day they left Little Rock for Washington, D.C.

And yes, I know Woodward has his own agenda.... just throwing it out there.

(59,504 posts)It was inconsiderate, especially towards his wife, and was extremely rash as this becoming known then when he was just becoming President would have really started things off on the wrong foot.
That HRC referred to a specific woman, who had presumably had an affair with her husband, is not the least bit troubling to me. It does make me question Bill Clinton's values - on both a moral level, but more importantly, that he would risk his moral authority as the US President by continuing to welcome these women to events where they could be seen by both HRC and the media.

(53,791 posts)What wife wouldn't.
But a surrogate introducing a male candidate and referring to his female opponent as a "whore"?
You're not dense. You have to know that's a huge no-no.
Your post is a fail.
phleshdef
(11,936 posts)Admittedly though, I really just threw this out there to be a little bit devious.

(5,901 posts)I'm not dense, and Song wasn't introducing Bernie, and was not specifically talking about Hillary, perhaps inclusively, but to corporate Democratic whores. More than one. He said he was talking about Congress, and if the shoe fits .... I know of quite a few corporate whores in the Congress, some women, some men, mostly men.
But the term is well-worn and has been used here for the decade+ that I've been a member of DU. That term is neither a huge no-no, or even a little one.
If you don't want to use the term, I have no problem with that. But don't tell me how to think and/or speak. Hillary's crowd is becoming the Thought Police!
brush
(53,791 posts)Of course it was, a Sanders surrogate calling his opponent, another dem and a woman a whore.
No way to justify it which is why it's being talked about everywhere today and why Bernie disavowed it.
Bad timing too for his campaign.

(11,366 posts)The guy was referring to all the congress people, men and women, who suck at the corporate teet to the detriment of the average citizen.

(8,352 posts)shit up don't you?
Can you ever not lie about something.
Song never called Clinton a 'corporate Democratic whore'. That fact is well established, but I do find it interesting that y'all think he did which reveals more about what you are psychologically doing that you may want to admit.

(1,134 posts)I resent the way Clinton and her millionaire girlfriends use faux feminist outrage against Sanders and thereby the millions of working women who need & deserve a living wage of at minimum $15 an hour that Bernie would give them.

Calling a woman that is messing with your husband a whore, is acceptable under any circumstances. I'll take Hillarys side on that any day of the week.

(3,017 posts)The women wouldn't have been hanging around Bill if he hadn't put out the signals and instructed his closest aides and security detail to provide them with access to him, or even to recruit them on his behalf. Ordinary people can't just walk up to Presidents or governors, and Presidents and governors can't just wander off on their own.
The current Alabama governor is under fire for an affair with a woman who was making several hundred thousand dollars a year in dark money without being on the state payroll. I just read an article yesterday about the many occasions when the Governor had snuck out of his house and slipped his security detail. They would put out word among each other that "we lost the governor."
It takes two to tango. I would think Hillary's outrage should have been directed at Bill instead of the women he was screwing around with.

If so, thats their business. I just wanted to throw a little water on "whore gate".

(59,504 posts)Clearly, there was enough between them that she stayed. In fact, way back in 1992, that was pretty much what she said on the 60 minutes show where they spoke of Gennefer Flowers. Obviously even then, she had already had to publicly deal with his unfaithfulness more than once before. It was clear in 1998, that she was furious and very hurt, but she opted to stay with him.
As to anger, I think that she likely DID direct some at Bill and it was well deserved.
Still, it is very likely that they will be the first (and maybe only) husband and wife that both become President. For her sake, I hope he can behave during that time.
Avalon Sparks
(2,566 posts)Each marriage is unique to the individuals in them.
Aside form physical abuse, I would never judge a woman or man for staying, never.
I do agree Bill should get the brunt of her anger, but I have no problem calling out anyone that decides to pursue a relationship with a married person, if they are aware that person is married.
I can imagine Hillarys anger that he was talking that girl up right in front of her.
If it was me, a lot more likely would have happened then just name calling.

(5,815 posts)The funny thing about Clinton is that people seem to think all of her dirty laundry isn't out there. She's had heated words about Jews and is really, really uncomfortable around LGBTers.
But it's primary time! Let's pretend!
I don't want someone with her temper in the Oval Office.

(10,622 posts)Hillary feminist (whom bare little resemblance to feminists dealing with real gender inequality issues), are just fine that He has the honor of directly coordinating with her campaign as head of a PAC that owns at least two media outlets and is tasked with speaking for her via his internet outreach.
Sometimes things become so surreal that things that are up appears down, and right appears left.
I think they should petition Hillary as her supporters to disavow him and his Super pack because ever since he victim blamed and slut shamed Anita Hill, a black woman of impeccable character just to get Clarence Thomas onto the Supreme court (a judge that would vote to overturn choice had he his druthers and the opportunity) he is really nothing more than a paid sleaze merchant who appears to be "a little bit racist and a little bit salacious"
