It'd be no contest. Sanders is an empty suit.

(11,197 posts)Personally, I think that would be the case regardless though because her faults lie in her politics, not in her gender.

(7,010 posts)if it weren't for the GOP being so inept she would lose the election, she's going to be the next president because the other side is worse.

(8,352 posts)they fall back to the surface. Tonight it is the sexism meme again.
woolldog
(8,791 posts)I'm not pushing any meme. Im just struck watching this debate how much more accomplished and qualified she is than him. This is a no brainier.

(8,352 posts)A few years as a senator with her most well known vote being the disastrous Iraq War and a few years as SoS with a server scandal and Libya's We came, we saw, he died jokes as he most well know accomplishments there.
It is a no brainer alright.

(9,323 posts)If people trusted her to uphold the principles of the democratic party and she had a track record of doing so, she would be winning running away. I'd like to know your definition of an empty suit. To me, it is someone who spouts the same "conventional wisdom" that everyone else on capital hill is saying. That does not describe senator sanders.

(1,730 posts)Achilles heal. Add in her seeming inability to give straightforward answers to simple questions, and the public sees her as being untruthful. I don't see gender being an issue at all.

(36,392 posts)policies she supports and the astounding level of corruption, she would have been laughed out of the primary after a week, unless of course she ran in the republican primary, where she would probably win comfortably.

(2,052 posts)She would still be practicing law somewhere and would never have been fortunate to marry a future President, allowing her to have the career she has had. Show me a woman who has had more advantages than her.

(1,235 posts)There's no one here that would be anything but ecstatic for the 1st female president. But I guarantee that if you put Bill in there, there would be not a single Bernie supporter that would flip over to the Clinton camp.
