Hillary's Israel Stance Represents Supermajority of Americans and Democrats (by wide margin)

Last edited Fri Apr 15, 2016, 07:31 AM - Edit history (1)

One of the hot topics tonight was Hillary vs. Bernie on Israel and the Palestinians. It seems Bernie forgets one key thing:

yes, that's majorities of Independent, Republican, and Democrats that stand with Israel. Majorities of both sexes. Majorities of all age groups.

And both of those not by mere margins, but all more than 2:1 RATIOs. Reagan won 49 states with a roughly 3:2 popular vote ratio. Israel at minimum beats the Palestinians 2.3:1 (D), 3.7:1 (I), and 10:1 (R).

Bernie has put himself at odds with a lot of people, in New York, California, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, etc, where the Jewish population is high, he's sealing his primary grave. If he met the general, the GOP would eat him alive on this issue alone, given support both for Israel's unique free-status in the ME per Freedom House, and America's fear of Islamist terror, which Hamas, Hezbollah engage in, and the PLO tacitly supports. Given the Palestinians' first leader was a Mufti, its obvious that their entire cause is an Islamic cause.

For whatever reason, the European left hates Israel, and some on the left here in America, mainly the extreme left, want to import that. I would say its pretty clear that the anti-Israel/BDS/Free-Palestine movement ranks there with Free Mumia...its fringe, and the American people want no part, and the Democratic Party needs no part, nor wants it either.

BRAVO HILLARY!!

the Palestinians and one will support neither.

At least that's how I read the Gallup poll you posted.

Stand with Israel. In American elections, or really any meaningful process that lacks a set threshold, abstention is effectively not mattering.

If he's the nominee, he will not get my vote.

can't name the Vice President? The sorry truth is, we're mostly a nation of "Jaywalkers." They ought to ask a qualifying question before hitting the topic they're covering. Something like "can you name the Attorney General" or "how many members make up the Supreme Court" or "do you know the name of your Congressman." I bet if a follow-up question was, "Should Sour Grapes or the Funky Divas be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame," most people would give a definitive answer.

banks, inequality, you guys are the first to talk about how smart you think people are and how great Sanders is.

America is no stupider than any major large country. America also elected not only an ethnic, but racial minority member twice. We're an honorable country.

Her answers were perfect, Israel has a clear right to defend itself from Hamas terrorism. I was very happy to see her call out the disgusting incitement to violence driven by Palestinian authorities

Bernie may find regurgitating Hamas talking points doesn't get you very far in New York.

It won't win him many votes in NY though, and could in fact lose him some.

Your poll and your use of it proves the existence of the point Sanders was making - both sides need respect if a president is going to help find a solution. You immediately try to turn that isn't an either or choice and then use that false dichotomy as a tool to divide people.

Your tactic is a tool of a demagogue and is an evil approach to a problem causing massive human suffering.

Israel, because its the only free-ranked country in the ME, per Freedom House, merits favoritism.

From ISP's RightWeb:

Our woman in Ukraine, Victoria Nuland, is married to PNAC co-founder Robert Kagan

Robert Kagan's brother is Frederick Kagan

Frederick Kagan's spouse is Kimberly Kagan

Brilliant people, big ideas, etc. The thing is, that's a lot of PNAC. And the PNAC approach to international relations means more wars without end for profits without cease, among other things detrimental to democracy, peace and justice.

What's amazing is how few people know they're still working the war drums.
