My guess is that there are probably more than 1340 people in Vermont who wish Bernie would shut up.

I was listening to CNBC this morning and the hosts were discussing the fact that General Electric Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Immelt is feeling the Bern right now, but it's not the Bern you might think. The commentators were discussing that for the second time in as many weeks, CEO Immelt is pissed off with Bernie's comments regarding GE which he claims are inaccurate. The commentators were talking about the good paying jobs and money that GE brings to Bernie's little hamlet, Burlington VT, and that there is no technical reason why those jobs can't be performed elsewhere to include Mexico for $3.00 an hour. But GE is currently committed to their employees in Vermont, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't change if Bernie continues to lie about GE.

Now I have always suspected that this presidential campaign was Bernie's last stand. I expect that he will retire to Vermont after his failed candidacy ends. After all, once you've reached rock star status with thousands of young people yelling your name and laughing at your jokes, and had your own secret service detail whipping you through rush hour traffic from venue to venue, it's hard to go back to your tiny Senate office where there is still no budget resolution, because, like you the Tea Party faction of the GOP does not encourage compromise. Therefore, the gridlock you left to pursue the highest office in the land, awaits your return to being just one more politician among 538 others, particularly when you've spent the past year pissing off half of them with your disparaging remarks.

I was looking for CEO Immelt's comments, but could only find these from a couple of weeks ago which discuss some of the GE's operations in Vermont. I know Bernie considers himself fearless, but I can't help but think that those 1340 Vermonter's with those good paying jobs, would like nothing better than for Bernie to either keep his A$$ in Vatican City, or STFU about GE.

Jeffrey R. Immelt is chairman and chief executive of GE.

We at GE were interested to read comments Monday by Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), who told the New York Daily News editorial board that GE is among the companies that are supposedly “destroying the moral fabric” of America. The senator had been asked to cite examples of corporate greed at its worst. Somehow that got him to talking about us.

GE has been in business for 124 years, and we’ve never been a big hit with socialists. We create wealth and jobs, instead of just calling for them in speeches. We take risks, invest, innovate and produce in ways that today sustain 125,000 U.S. jobs. Our engineers innovate every day to build hardware and software solutions that meet real-world challenges. Our employees are proud of our company. I meet second- and third-generation employees whenever I travel across the country. I am one myself. Our suppliers and partners are proud of our company. Our communities are proud of our company. Our pride, history and hard work are real — the moral fabric of America.

The senator has never bothered to stop by our aviation plant in Rutland, Vt. We’ve been investing heavily (some $100 million in recent years), hiring and turning out some of the world’s finest jet-engine components in Vermont since the 1950s. The plant employs more than 1,000 people who are very good at what they do. It’s a picture of first-rate jobs with high wages, advanced manufacturing in a vital industry — how things look when American workers are competing and winning — and Vermont’s junior senator is always welcome to come by for a tour.

Elsewhere in Vermont, GE Healthcare employs more than 340 men and women in South Burlington. Yearly, GE does about $40 million worth of business with dozens of suppliers of parts and services across Vermont. Nationwide, we have 200 GE plants, including 15 that were built in the past five years — all with the aim of making GE the world’s premier industrial company.

outsource jobs. Whatever they do - and make no mistake, they would leave every one of their locations in the US tomorrow, but for the tax loopholes and subsidies, if they believed they would make a bigger profit - they do it ONLY based on profits.

GE is not going to close down anything in Vermont out of pique with Bernie. They are just aware that Hillary will continue to give them their tax breaks and subsidies.

Pepperidge Farms probably does.

Well, sorry, this is America. Remember, WE are from the gene pool that took on the largest military in the world when we were just colonies so we could throw off the yoke of tyranny.

You think we're going to let ourselves become slaves to corporations again?

Wrong country, man.

9. So Bernie should be afraid of Immelt? The Bern is just too honest.

Can't annoy the CEO huh? Well, there must be a reason that GE is in Vermont and I doubt it has to do with Bernie. Honest Bernie. Please forgive him for his honesty, junkie.

Lockheed, the creators of certain attack drones and of course the F-35, would probably prefer to not have the competition.

Bernie's on TEAM LOCKHEED.
