Got him! What the tax papers hid!

See the itemized deduction worksheet at this link:
https://go.berniesanders.com/page/-/Bernie%20Taxes%20Full.pdf

On page 3, itemized deductions, see box 22. As you know, Bernie has claimed all along that Jane files their taxes. Box 22 shows $204 for "tax preparation fees"....There it is in black and white-he has set up an illicit payment to his wife!!!

Case closed. Now he must drop out of the race!!!

THAT is the gold standard (public acknowledgement-wise) of letting people know how little a rich person can pay...

while you are at it...you might want to wrap your head around what Bernie is saying about the tax situation in general...and let us know how his income that is nearly what? 2 or so Hillary speeches, is somehow manipulated illegally to pay less than the fair share as calculated using IRS rules and regs...

find me any one of your heroes that voluntarily pays more taxes than they legally owe...look at the Clintons first to make it easy...or not..

if you can't, which i am pretty sure you can't, but you guys might always have something in the old bag to pull out...anyway, just find a different tack before you look petty....

A key detail withheld by Sanders until Friday night prompts yet another question: The senator and his wife have both said on national television that Jane Sanders prepares the couple’s returns using TurboTax software. But a schedule that had been withheld until now shows $204 in tax preparation fees.

The most expensive version of TurboTax sold currently — a higher grade product than needed to prepare the couple’s returns, costs $109.99 That price includes both an online download and a compact disc. And that is the price charged by Intuit, the manufacturer, with retailers offering discounts pricing the top product at under $100.

Look, if people don't want to be called out on what they say, they shouldn't say things that are easily challenged.

HRC catches enough shit--what's good for the goose, etc.

Don't give me that "you really doing this?" attitude--that's the equivalent of "Because Bernie" and it doesn't fly with me at all. It's not cool. If BS becomes the nominee, if you think the right wing is going to "Because Bernie" him on everything from his sketchy, cretinous and inappropriate writings to his travels, his "I hate JFK" ramblings, his taxes and beyond, you'd better think again.

And if you don't think a large swathe of Middle America won't be appalled--viscerally--and recoil when they learn a lot of this stuff (and they would learn it, courtesy of "America Rising" or one of those PACS that Bernie decries) you need to recalibrate.

How soon we forget Kitty Dukakis and Willy Horton, John Kerry and Swiftboating, Jimmy Carter and His Killer Rabbits, John McCain's Illegitimate Black Baby etc. The GOP had a FIELD DAY. They have a lot of experience at this. They're good at it. One of the things they can't do with HRC is beat her on all that "old" shit. People like their "scandals" (faux or otherwise) fresh, new and unheard. She's got the teflon rhino skin--the shit slides off and she can take a hit and keep charging. Sanders has NEVER been challenged OR questioned--look at how his crew muffed this simple tax thing. With lies and deceit, when there was no real need. He looks evasive as hell.

There's a shitload of grist in the Sanders mill--vet it NOW.

Look I know things can get heated during a primary, but claiming someone with his income and net worth is doing something unethical is beyond the pale. What is much more likely, is that there are numerous mistakes on his filings, nothing nefarious, just mistakes. He is at an income level where his wife still does the taxes, like many American families they don't have the income nor complexities that require an accountant, but she may have made some mistakes. A mistake that may result in a thousand here or there, but a mistake that would be blown out of proportion.

More to the point, though--if Sanders paid all that money for tax preparation, why did she have to "go home" to get her tax returns? Remember that excuse? They're in BOXES? That's what she said.

Now, we know she got on a plane last night. Clearly, she didn't have to go home and get her taxes--she could have just input the SSAN (or the email address/password) to Turbo Tax and pulled up the taxes--like the rest of us do.

There was some prevaricating going on. I think these documents got scrubbed. Perhaps the rest of them are getting scrubbed, too. Who knows? Something's off, though.

You just partial taxed me. I asked how much did you make and what your tax rate was? I am not even asking your deductions. As for the amount on Turbotax? I know for a fact it is more. I do the free one that makes you reenter all of your details and constantly tries to swap it out. The total adds up fast, and if done at any local place (you know if you are looking to support local it is quickly that much, they always try to sell you that they can get you more in deductions so it pays for itself). It seems logical She would get all of their materials, either do them completely her self and turn them in to get checked or just collected all of the paper work and have them do it.

And I am taxed at more than double his rate.

I just told you what I paid for Turbo Tax Deluxe.

Something is "off" with what both Bernie and Jane have been saying. If they paid that much for their Turbotax, they must have filed in more than one state, AND they would have been able to retrieve their taxes online.

You (all) said Bernie invited himself to Rome.

You said Bernie lied about speaking at the conference.

You said Bernie was going just to get an endorsement from the Pope

You said Bernie lied about meeting the Pope

And now you expect us to believe anything else you throw at the wall?

Remember the boy who called Wolf?

Well you've been calling it for too long already.

And you are so frenzied, you got sucked in by a sarcastic OP. This is just precious.

Edited to add: it's true, without facial expressions and vocal inflection, online sarcasm is bound to be misinterpreted sometimes.

If he earned any money outside of Vermont, they would need to purchase additional software for multiple state tax forms (you get one state for free).

Also, TurboTax can file the federal forms electronically for free, but there's a fee to file each state electronically ($24.99 per state).
