2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumSanders supporters: is it payday for you? I'm going all NPR/PBS & issuing a dollar-for-1/2 dollar
challenge.
Hopefully this can be a fun thing. Here's the deal:
I will donate $100 to the Sanders campaign via the DU Act Blue link as soon as enough Sanders supporters have chimed in and their numbers total $50. So, if person A says they can do $5, and person B says they can do $27, and person C pledges $20, that totals $52--two bucks over the line. And that triggers me to make my $100 donation.
I don't need anyone's proof--Sanders supporters are on my side, and we don't have honesty issues. At the same time, if OS or someone else knows how to show that I did, in fact, give my $100, I'd welcome that.
(and keep this on the down-low, because again, I'd like this to be fun, but I'll still give his campaign the $100 regardless).
So who wants to get this started? Please just announce the amount you plan to give. And thank you very much. She's raising big cash from big people, but we can outdo that with our sheer numbers, and I think DU can have a nice little part in that.
Thank you.

(1,511 posts)When ever they made that claim I wondered what kept them from saying, wow look here, just got that amount. As for me, I already did this week.

(1,511 posts)I had requested them stop reporting biased reports on Bernie. I complained multiple times, and they did nothing. Even called them on pledge day with the complaint (pretend like I had already donated so it was not like I was holding them hostage) and they just said they will note it down. They really let me down this year.

(12,530 posts)There's still some good programming on NPR, but a lot less than there used to be, in my opinion.

(1,511 posts)I still did it, but I have found myself taken aback more and more by their poor reporting anymore and fluff pieces. They did a story, that was basically an advert for Sharknado 2. I called in to complaint, and from the sounds of it many others had too.

And I am happy to provide proof

So look at that. We just raised $162 for Bernie Sanders, and no one broke a sweat.
Thanks, everyone.

(10,529 posts)At this point, I've got 4 installments left; plus, they've managed to tempt me to kick in extra every couple of months. So count me in for $100.
Thank you for your generosity!
B.t.w., I made my first contribution to Sanders in 2011. I don't live in Vermont; but I notice when someone's working for me.
