Do you think the Pope inspired Sanders to be as progressive as Hillary and O'Malley on refugees?

Donald Trump "accused" Hillary and Sanders of advocating for up to 65,000 properly vetted refugees from Syria.

Hillary (and O'Malley) did make that commitment, but Sanders has not. His only commitment was a petition on his web page that supported Obama's decision to admit 10,000 refugees. Given Sanders' historical resistance to immigration because immigrants might take jobs from Americans, it's not surprising he wouldn't commit to the higher number.

But, maybe the Pope, who just brought three Syrian refugee families to stay with him at the Vatican, might have inspired Sanders to move to the left a little?

informs him the most along those lines. I think many Bernie critics are missing the symbolism of his being housed at St Martha's and meeting with Francis there. St Martha's was used to house refugees, mostly Jewish, during WW2. It is where Francis resides by his own choice while all other Popes have lived in the Papal Palace, a nicer, more private residence which is in another building.
Francis also does not use Castel Gandolfo, the Papal summer palace. Gandolfo housed up 20,000 WW2 refugees, as it is large and has lands sufficient to feed a large number of people.
