Which brought to mind a story I recalled hearing about Nazi executions at Auschwitz.

Maybe this "shoot every 3rd person" idea is not restricted to the Holocaust. It's the only time I recall hearing of it. That being said, I have a hard time believing that Clinton was not trying to evoke imagery of genocide. What possible excuse can their be for such a ugly and violent comment?
"Joke" doesn't suffice. Nor will an "almost" apology.
This is despicable.

(27,310 posts)He is said that "shooting every third person on Wall St." is BERNIE'S message and that his supporters like that message.
I think it's fine that all these young students have been so enthusiastic for her opponent and (he) sounds so good: 'Just shoot every third person on Wall Street and everything will be fine,'"

(819 posts)... it does make me wonder even more about Hillary's judgement.
Bill is not an asset to her with the amount of ethical and moral ammunition the GOP will use if she is he nominee. Noting the thread that isnow hidden regarding some of his associations and antics.
He is a slippery weasel. I feel very icky for having voted for him at all.

(23,340 posts)I don't know the word for killing one out of three.
Decimation, one of 10.
Centimation, one of 100.
Millimation, one of 1000.
maybe Trimation, one of three?
We'll have to ask Bill, when he imposes this upon Wall Street.

Fuck Bill for saying such a nasty thing. Wonder if he'll "almost" feel like apologizing again for being such a dick. Again.

(3,366 posts)was for Bill's second term. I was nervous about NAFTA. I voted for Perot... and maybe he was a bit nuts, but he was absolutely right about that "giant sucking sound." It was a disaster for this country!

(8,812 posts)I used to think that he was more of a natural than she was.
After all, she's the one who laughed at the death of Qaddafi, claimed she'd been "dead broke", and in 2008 alluded to RFK's assassination as the reason why she was reluctant to drop out of the race until after the California primary.
But lately he seems to be playing catchup.

(28,876 posts)...genocide in quotes. I appreciate this is mass murder. But my only experience with the oddly specific "shoot every 3rd person" was in a Holocaust documentary I'd seen.

(28,876 posts)While I can't remember the specific documentary I heard of the Nazis "shooting every 3rd person" horror, I've found so many other citations, beyond the one listed in the OP, of Nazis doing this. It was absolutely a widespread tactic.
I simply cannot for the life of me think of what else Bill could have been drawing a comparison to than Nazi execution of Jews.
This is shockingly awful, even for him.
