It's already April, and we still have the opponents of the eventual Democratic nominee literally glued to their computers attempting to recreate 1972 for no particularly good reason because if the Dems really did run that proverbial Yellow Dog



he or she would beat Trump and/or Cruz by a mile. The dog would even beat John Kasich, once the public learned more about the candidate than that he is a guy whose first name is "John" meaning that he is neither 1) female nor 2) a guy who got bullied in school for having a weird name

It could be worse. So much worse. The enemies of democracy could be attempting to Tar Baby and Feather the eventual nominee as a liberal and a communist and a Lesbian/Jew. Instead, they are sitting on TV News shows tellings us how The Gal Candidate likes to interfere with the politics of foreign countries to make us safer and more prosperous at home (And we all know what Americans think about presidents who are willing to interfere with the politics of other countries to make us safer and more prosperous at home.) How she takes campaign contributions from Your Employer (And we all know how so called independent voters feel about "Your Employer.&quot How she is a "war hawk". (If you are uncertain about what Americans think of "War Hawks", try to remember how many times folks in Congress called for Nixon's impeachment over the illegal incursions into Laos and Cambodia and how many times they wanted his head on a platter for putting the name of their favorite actor on his enemies list---if you can't remember back that far, Noam Chomsky does it for you in this oldie but still goodie: https://chomsky.info/19730920/ ).

And they are telling us how the Guy Candidate wants us to have our guns (because Independent Americans are so anti-gun.) And they are telling us how he is so down on bankers (Because Americans are so in love with Banksters.) And they are telling us that there isn't a beans worth of difference between the two candidates when it comes to reproductive freedom (Because independent voters are really looking for someone to police their bedrooms).

Skinner and DU have not had it easy. This primary makes the food fight at the monster truck rally of the 2008 primary look like a tea social attended by Mother Theresa, Mr. Rogers and the Dali Lama. I am sure that they have questioned their own sanity. I am sure that they have questioned the sanity of DU members. I am sure that they have considered pulling the plug and turning this into a site for Cute Fluffy Kitten Videos (see the success of SalmonEnchantedEvening's ever popular LOL Cats weekly post.) They have been accused of being biased in favor of the Guy Candidate, the Gal Candidate, the Other Guy Candidate Whose Name No One Can Remember. They have had to endure more cries of "He touched me!" and "She took my toy!" than this week's designated driver of ADD Academy's Kindergarten Car Pool.

Some Guy who used to be important in the GOP claims he knows math. I know math, too. Somehow, we are in the win/win situation of having not one but two candidates who can each beat the pants off any Republican nominee. Yep, yep. The GOP was so convinced that they were propping up an unelectable Democrat that they did not bother finding an electable Republican. They were so hard at work convincing Americans that a socialist from the Northeast represents true American values that they forgot to look for their own "values" candidate.

We do not have a divided party. We have a spare, in case of unforeseen emergencies. And who does not want a second ace in the hole?

unions, women, LGBT, minorities, disabled, children, elderly, teachers, nurses and all the other folks in my neighborhood. And anyone who makes my party---and neighbors---stronger and healthier and happier has earned my thanks. And loyalty.
