Pope suggests anyone who thinks he's endorsed Sanders ''See a Psychiatrist"

“This morning when I was leaving, Senator Sanders was there,” he told reporters in Italian aboard the papal airliner today, after his visit to the refugee-filled Greek island of Lesbos. “He knew I was leaving at that time. I greeted him, his wife, and another couple who were there and were sleeping in Santa Martha."

Added the Pope, laughing, “If anyone thinks that greeting someone is getting involved in politics, I recommend that he look for a psychiatrist.”

AND

Pope Francis' advice was right

Bernie comes out and says it was a 5 minutes meeting and was not an endorsement.

His Holiness comes out and says it was a five minute meeting and not an endorsement.

Sad little weepy Hillary supporters come out and say Bernie was lying.

Hillary fans . . . TAKE THE POPE'S ADVICE!!!!!

Semantic tripe ONLY carries the day with sycophants.

Trust me, you'll get more mileage in the Hillary Group.

Those were his exact words.

the pope added. “It’s common courtesy, this is called common courtesy.

“If someone thinks that greeting someone is getting involved in politics,” he said, “I recommend that they find a psychiatrist.

Or are you already being seen . . . because Bernie has been saying the same thing from minute one.

Edited to add:

I can also give you a link to the definition of "semantics"

I believe one of the very examples is:

Semantics, as in semantic games, e.g., claiming "it was just a brief meeting, five minutes, it was not a political endorsement" is materially different from "he was nice enough to be there when I left, just a handshake, it was not a political endorsement"

Because Bernie actually did meet the Pope, he shouldn't be allowed to point out that the Pope and he agree on fundamental economic issues?

How desperate are you?

give NY to him. But it won't happen. Hillary will win NY.

So, I'm not desperate. Actually, I'm feeling pretty good about Tuesday.

But, thanks for your concern

New York will come out however it comes out. Bernie thought it was the right thing to do and he did it.

Also, you are welcome

And he didn't. So, he statement is correct.

But he has tacitly endorsed, or rather, boosted Sanders. That's as far as he can go.

The OP ACTUALLY just asks a question.

The article in the Christian Science Monitor to which it links suggests that the Vatican inviting a political candidate to speak on a subject where he and his opponent are on complete opposite sides of the spectrum in the middle of the campaign is an tacit endorsement AT LEAST ON THAT ISSUE. Even though that is a completely different issue than Bernie's meeting with Pope Francis, I'm sure the CSM has a website where you can explain all the cogent reasons you have to believe the invitation to speak was not a tacit endorsement. (Because you sure as heck won't do it here)

As for Senator Sanders, he stated UNEQUIVOCALLY that his meeting with His Holiness was NOT AN ENDORSEMENT and was only five minutes long.

You know, just like Pope Francis.

and on about how Francis and Bernie agree on income equality and they're gunna meet and Hillary is jealous and this is just more evidence of the growing revolution... Yeah they speak like it's something other than he flew to the Vatican like many other people and ran into the pope in a hallway.

Sanders people have been spinning this into their political agenda and so yes, the pope's response I think refers more to the Bernie people. That's all to have to say, moving on

Many of the so called Bernie supporters "should" see a Psychiatrist, you know the ones who make false claim all the time about how many people show up a Bernie's events, or the ones who can stop using the scorched earth tactics on Hillary, and the ones who won't stop making excuses for every mistake Sanders and his camp make, and of course the ones who keep saying if Bernie does not win "DON'T VOTE for Hillary, write in Bernie's name, and lately those who keep saying Bernie "WILL" run as an independent. All these people need to seek help as soon as possible.
