Related: About this forumHow would you rank these?
1. Bernie ambushing the Pope
2. Arpaio ambushing Jane Sanders
3. BLM ambushing Hillary or Bernie
I would rank them like this
1: Apraio ambushing Jane Sanders is pretty bad, but that's because Arpaio is an asshole.
2: Bernie ambushing the Pope is pretty bad, because the Pope's a nice guy regardless of the beliefs of his Church and shouldn't be drawn into the political bullshit.
3: BLM does really great work and have forced both Sanders and Hillary to speak to their issues so their ambushes are good. They deserve a lot of credit, I think, for focusing on a major issue without allowing the political campaigns to distract them.

It is true that there has been unnecessary meanness on both sides in the Hillary v Bernie primary campaign. But this attempt to trash Bernie on grounds that on multiple fronts turned out to be bogus (albeit there were some odd vibes about 'rudeness' coming from at least one Vatican voice) is a particularly low point.
And it is especially odd that HRC supporters (or apparent supporters) won't just let it go already -- I could imagine some Bernie supporters choosing to 'wave the bloody shirt' as it turned out that (a) the Vatican did indeed invite Bernie and apparently not recently or under pressure from him or his proxies and (b) he did in fact meet the pope (tho I noticed one group HOST joining w/others insinuating that this was a web of lies from Bernie himself and his wife and top surrogates). This does little but make Hillary supporters on DU look bad
It also means that in the not far-out possibility that HRC in fact IS the nominee and there is a need to get Bernie supporters (at least in those states in play) to abandon "Bernie or Bust"ism and vote to keep whatever horror the GOP puts up out of the White House (and YES THAT IS A GOOD REASON TO VOTE FOR SOMEONE), those seeking to do this on DU would have that much more difficult a job. Fortunately, there seems to be very little spillover from the foolishness (like trashing Bernie over his Vatican visit) on DU to either the mainstream media or other fora on the broad progressive side on the web that I have seen.
Find something more credible like arguing how the polls showing Bernie winning more strongly against possible GOP candidates fails to reflect the swiftboating he would/will inevitably face or whatever -- REAL arguments, even if not utterly convincing
