'Birdie' Sanders provides teachable moment

Cute story in our local paper from a town near me. I can't wait to to the GOP/RW bible and gun clingers heads explode in the letters to the editors!

York Sunday News 4/17/16:

In late March, when a sparrow flitted into politics by landing on a podium in use by Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, Dallastown Area High School teacher Wade Fulton seized the moment.

Some people “really saw that sparrow as being a symbol,” he said. Fulton teaches mythology, so he looked up the sparrow’s symbolism across mythology.

He found several connections, for example: one of Aphrodite’s sacred birds was the sparrow. Though she’s known as the Greek goddess of sexual love, she’s also associated with familial love and friendship, Fulton said.

Shows the contempt they feel for Mother Nature. The bird is a sign that Mother Nature endorses Birdie Sanders

Plenty of pictures of the bird.

(I can't believe I'm posting in this thread, by the way.)

From the reaction of the 12,000 or so people who were there, I would say it was a symbol. The reaction was joyous awe. Harmony, unity. I will never forget it.
