Bernie is taking the High Road -- and it shows.

Look how far the kid from Brooklyn has come: starting with near-zero national name recognition, he is today running neck and neck in the race for the nomination of our Democratic Party for President of the United States. It is an amazing accomplishment, considering the whole political Establishment, Wall Street, Globalist Warmongers and Corporate McPravda are allied against him. Best of all, he hasn't had to smear his opponent to get to where he is.

Imagine what he could accomplish as President, if he devoted his attention to tackling the problems facing the nation with the 99-percent behind him?

Government of the People, by the People, and for the People.

The USA as Empire for the benefit of the few, the connected, and the warmongers has gotten old, to put it mildly.

"Fidelio" is thought to be Beethoven's lone opera.

After realizing he was going deaf and there was little the physicians could do about it, he was at the point of quitting. Then he realized what it -- his life, the universe, us as humanity was all about and moved the art of music to a new dimension.

"Whoever gets to know and understand my music, will be freed from all the misery that drags down others." -- Ludwig van Beethoven

Listening to it this morning. Some passages seem quite familiar, but I don't believe I've heard it before, it's really powerful.

My wife and I sat in the second-row balcony. The Michigan Opera Theatre production was outstanding in every way. It was part of what we call our "Year of Beethoven."

The Detroit Symphony Orchestra performed all nine symphonies. One weekend featured all the piano sonatas -- performed in order, non-stop, with talented students playing the earliest works and through to the later works, performed by some of the world's greatest pianists.

We also enjoyed "33 Variations," a drama at Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theatre, a fictional work about a musicologist exploring Beethoven's Diabelli Variations.

Before I met my wife, the guy helped me stay, eh, not insane.

ETA: Forgot the most important part: Thank you for the YouTube link. I will play later and see if my immortal beloved recalls where she heard it before.

His 1985 relectionb campaign for Burlington mayor.

This is Bernie -- outside of the soundbites of the current campaign. Grass roots, real life level. Same spirit as his current rallies -- but on a smaller neighbor-to-neighbor level.

A GREAT SPEECH. This is what Bernie Sanders is -- from his campaign kick off for re-election as Mayor of Burlington. (He went on to win several times by large margins)

It's rough and home made -- but the spirit shines through. Both tough and positive. I find it inspiriting how Bernie made both a tangible and spiritual difference -- both IDEALISTIC AND PRACTICAL RESULTS. Both the ACCOMPLISHMENTS as described by the introductory speakers on what his administration accomplished. And his own speech.

The others speakers are worth watching.

Bernie's speech starts at about 20 minutes. A great speech....It is vintage Bernie -- similar Big Pictures themes as today, but on the grass roots level too, and talking in A VERY SPECIFIC WAY ABOUT WHAT HAS BEEN DONE AND SPECIFIC GOALS. He knows how to make life better in a REAL SENSE.

And if you want to give a kicjk to the thread it is on ...well, I wouldn't mind/

wanting to keep criminals in office. And I get why feminists, DINOs, and LIV want Mrs Clinton to win. What puzzles me is why people like dws are so intent on keeping millions of new young liberal voters out of the party.
