They're not Hillarians or Berniebros.

They're not Hillbots or Berniebots. They're supporters of the candidates they prefer. Using such name-calling as a substitute for actual discussion may be some sort of shortcut, but it's a lousy way to talk about a primary race between two candidates for the Democratic nomination.

There are lots of other ugly names people are calling each other, too. It's a damned shame.

We waste a lot of time with such names and obscure the real issues, both here on DU and out in the actual political landscape. I suppose it's too late now to stop doing that, but we really should. We might actually learn something useful instead of just beating each other over the head with rubber chickens.

I don't know, but so it seems to me.

If they support unnecessary war, they're no kin or peers of mine, and not worth the respect I'd afford to any other human being. One of the fellows I went to tech school is missing a goddamn leg coming back from the Great Middle-Eastern Sandbox; and he's been in as long as me-- only four years. I can't look at these people who somehow think intervention, regime change and perpetual war is a good thing as anything other than animals.

You raise a point that can be discussed. You called nobody names. This OP is about name-calling of supporters of one or another candidate, not about issues being raised.

I'm pretty certain there are people on this site who are encouraging this type of behavior and trying to widen the division and it's not to help Democrats.

I agree that name-calling benefits only the opposition party, though.

Which, I might add, is an accurate description of the candidate's views.

To me, some of the dug in posters being the most demeaning on both sides INTEND to make the board as fractured as possible.
