HILLARY CLINTON SAYS SHE ALWAYS KEEPS HOT SAUCE IN HER BAG ON ‘THE BREAKFAST CLUB’

We’re less than 7 months from the general elections, shortly after which someone not named Barack Obama will be the President of the United States of America for the first time in 8 years. Who that person will be is still up in the air, but of the four viable candidates, we’ve seen the Democratic hopefuls, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, make the hardest push to get involved in Hip Hop and inner-city culture, and secure the minority, millennial vote. From Sanders speaking to 18,000 people outside in the South Bronx, to Hillary engaging in a heated game of dominoes last week in East Harlem, every week it seems that Sanders or Clinton makes a signature effort to make sure they’re reaching the Hip Hop youth.

This week, Hillary Clinton’s efforts find her in the hot seat on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, where she sat down for an in-depth interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee and DJ Envy. Aside from her quest for the minority vote, Hillary is undoubtedly making a last minute push to reach as many New York ears as possible, considering tomorrow is the imperative New York primary, which could ultimately be the deciding factor of whose name appears on November’s Democratic ticket.

Though the interview just took place a short while ago–there’s no video or audio of their chat yet–via Twitter, we can see that Hillary dipped into her bag of colloquial trends and pulled out a Beyonce reference, telling TBC that she, like Queen Bey, keeps hot sauce in her bag. If you remember, Beyonce infamously sang, “I keep hot sauce in my bag, swag,” on “Formation,” the new single she dropped in February and performed at the Super Bowl.

Naturally, Twitter has already begun to react.

2012

We asked Secretary Clinton’s office what she always packs:

A small mesh bag filled with the basics: Sharpies, Advil, sunscreen. Converters to charge her BlackBerry and iPad anywhere in the world. Red pepper flakes and a mini bottle of Tabasco Sauce for adding spice to her meals.

2008

“I eat a lot of hot peppers,” she told CBS News anchor Katie Couric, who had asked her how she maintains her stamina on the campaign trail. “I for some reason started doing that in 1992, and I swear by it. I think it keeps my metabolism revved up and keeps me healthy.”

For the record, Beyonce's "Formation" was released in 2016.

This isn't policy. There is this in the article tho.

"Apparently Hillary then hinted at the fact that she might just be saying that to make herself more relatable to The Breakfast Club‘s demo, which listeners also picked up on."

Besides pandering isn't lying.

Which they took to mean she was asking if the pandering was working. Has Bernie done that show? I just posted a link yesterday to Nina Turner being on it recently, probably last week. Nina was great as always.

Anyone who knows Hillary knows that she loves spicy food. She carries her own bottles of hot sauce when she travels. On the plane, when she was SOS, they would add slices of jalapenos to the meals they served her.

This site has become beyond petty and tiresome.

What bothers me is her saying, "Is it working?" when the Breakfast Club hosts ask her if she is pandering. It's shameless and reduces an entire portion of your electorate to a lyric in a song.

I'm not concerned AT ALL about whether Hillary packs hot sauce, anywhere.

Those speeches to Goldman Sachs, on the other hand, let's get a gander at them.

people are "addicted" to hot sauce. Once you start using it, you get habituated to it and then crave it on a larger and larger variety of foods. Because it speeds up your metabolism, it's also good for you if you're trying to shed pounds. I don't see the big deal with the hot sauce. She likes it, it's in her purse, big f'ing deal. She's talked about it for years. It's not an uncommon thing to like. Jeezus.

I get told that line about me not liking hot sauce by many friends from the south or ones that are not white. Something to do with being white or being non-southern white means no spice. I often have to argue with people at Thai, Indian, Mexican, Chinese, etc places here I want spicy. The funny thing is most of them will then admit they do not like spice. I am not sure why that is it is such a stereotype...but I do love tomatoes, basil, and mayo on homemade bread (but most of my African friends and family get the mayo craving when I make the sandwich...that being said mustard is needed to start some one to the evil path of mayo).

That is not the point though, you are saying that her pulling out hot-sauce from the bag was just some random event? This is a post because it is pandering. Not news to me I remember when she pulled that move last time. But it is news worthy the fact that people are taking note of her obvious pandering. It shows she is losing her edge.

And I take no joy in countering any of you on this, as I am a Sanders voter, too, even if I am an old bat. I just loathe the pettiness that's been going on - both sides. I want to scream STOP!!!! to all wallowing in the pettiness these days.

I also hate pointless posts, but this one is about a sign of a shifting response by a demographic tired of being blatantly pandered to instead of treated like fellow citizens that get actual support once said official is elected.

I said I love how sauce, I always get treated weird when I want hot sauce. I am not sure why, maybe white people either get pissed when their food it too hot more often, or we like our ego stroked more when we are told we like spice more than the other white people, but I get this ALL the time. I live in a very highly diverse area, and my family is half african. So I am telling you simple facts I experience. This has NOTHING to do with if she like hot food, and everything to do with her playing one of her many race cards she keep on her at all times. She basically was making a statement of I am like you implying that the rest of her type are not like her, and that all of they are. She thought that true enough to bring it up and admit it was pandering. She said it was.

So as I said this is more of an issue because of the response, that was not happening at the start of the race, or it was ignored when it did. It shows cracks in the campaign's strategy.
