Has Sanders really "moved" Clinton to the left?

Some people say that Sanders has moved Clinton to the left. But frankly, I can't think of a single substantive area in which this is true. Her policy positions now, are what they were at the beginning of the campaign. The only plausible area in which this might be thought to be true is on the minimum wage. But she still isn't pushing a $15/hr Federal minimum wage. But a $12 floor, with local and state variations where they are achievable -- which is what she has said from the beginning. The one thing new she sorta threw out there was that if a democratic House and Senate passed $15/hr, she would sign it. But there will not be a democratic House until after the 2020 census. Though we might well get a democratic Senate. Indeed, hopefully there will, in fact, be a democratic Senate.

If you're poor or working class, tough shit. Hillary and her corporate ownership team gotta get theirs. How any Democrat is OK with this just astounds me.

The lurch to the right will be sudden and dramatic if she's given the nomination.

She has to see the tremendous groundswell for change among the public, yet she's sticking to the corporatist line.

She'd sing a different tune if she could.

raise the minimum wage, expand and consolidate Obama Care, overturn Citizens United, Debt free college, Regulate shadow banking. End mass incarceration.

What about that is not left enough for you?

if you believe she'll disobey her corporate ownership team (she is a wholly owned subsidiary of Goldman Sachs), well, you probably know where Sasquatch is hiding too.

To the benefit of us all, Sanders has prevented Clinton from making a turn towards the center and is keeping her feet to the fire. Without him in the race, she would have shifted to the center. See, e.g., DOMA, gay marriage, TPP, Wall Street, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I am glad that her policies are where they are, but Sanders has kept her in the left.

Will they feel that they've "won" something and quit their constant bellyaching?

It appears she will probably be the nominee and will buzz right back to moderate Republican. The Democratic Party has been edging to the right for so many years it would be indistinguishable from the GOP if they hadn't totally fallen off the right side of the flat earth.

She identified herself as a progressive, a pragmatic progressive, etc. She is budging on the wage issue. But she will run hard to the right as soon as she secures the nomination. So, no, not in substantive terms.
