In another post, a Clinton donor asked what it is they want with their donations. To me, Slavoj Zizek sums it up best in the subject line quotation. What wealthy donors want is to not be made uncomfortable. Certainly they are progressive in most social and economic contexts, as long as the socio-economic changes being advocated by candidates is only that which keeps their own lives - more or less - the same. Just as many told repressed minorities to postpone their civil rights revolution, the poor and on-their-way-to-poor are being asked to postpone their revolution.
