2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumDoes Romney Believe Lying is OK? Apparently he does and does it all the time...LLying for God
This is something I read a while back and it is a contemporary story.
This author said this girl she asked the question of had been a good and very loved friend of her daughters for several years and they were having a conversation about religion. She said she was a little shocked as to why Mormons don't drink tea or coffee, etc. and the girl said it was because it turns your insides black.
Do Mormons Believe In Lying?
Quote:
We had gotten past the things like the coffee, the tea, the caffeinated beverages, the fact that only certain areas of the Mormon temple were accessible to certain people and the underwear, but then the simplest of questions stopped me in my tracks.
"Mormons don't believe in lying, right?" Angela, without any hesitation in her voice or change in her expression said, "It's okay to lie, as long as it's not to another Mormon."
Does that explain Willard's etching and sketching, changing his talking points each time he opens his mouth? It's okay to lie? As long as it's not to another Mormon?
This sounds similar to the Islamic belief about lying. Again, I don't have a problem with someone's religion but when they manifest things like belief in and actually lying, then I think they should not be president. Let them lie all they want in their personal lives! I couldn't care less.
The rest of the story is short and pretty interesting.

(1,922 posts)I have made quite a few posts on this, to no avail.
I wonder why the MSNBC'ers haven't picked up on this.
Lying for the Lord is a requirement, a tenet in the cult.
If lying furthers the cult's interest, it is mandated that a lie must be told.
