I've been watching the totals on the NYT website and the numbers in the 5 boroughs are coming in extremely fast. The other areas reporting like we normally see with the elections. It's really weird.

and NYC is so Democratic that it has only about 13% of the GOP vote in New York State. Conversely the city has a very high proportion (about 60%) of the Democratic vote in New York State.

counties do. Some counties count fast and others not so much. Urban centers often count fast while rural counties count slower. One reason is that rural counties are often larger in area and count in one place.

In this case electronically. And you are wrong. Larger population centers typically take longer to count.
