A short blog post from the Irish-American website irishcentral.com examines why Santorum lost the Catholic vote in both Michigan and Arizona:
When white middle class Catholics are voting for a Mormon not a fellow religionist it shows things have changed since 1960.

(3,574 posts)Of the local Hibernians. Irish Catholics by and large are well read, literate folks. They are also mostly kind hearted. This might help explain their distaste for Santorum. (Full pun intended).

(1,405 posts)I have posted a lot of stuff on this subject
But one thing I have not said..
I remember walking across the asphalt play ground at St Finbar school to go to church and pray for JFK, his family and our country.
But around the area that the new Community Center entrance is.. my memory goes blank.
I remember hearing the news in my 3rd grade class. I don't remember exiting the classroom nor walking down the stairs.
I remember walking across the play ground and still do to this day when I attend the fiesta or some Philippino thing.
It never escapes me.
