2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumVoted yesterday, My Observations
Wake County NC - 5:00PM Thursday night
On my way in I was approached by 2 people offering a 'list of conservative judges', also 2 offering Democratic choices card.
No tents or other party setups for either side.
All voting 'booths' taken but little to no lines.
They had a table for register on the spot and vote.
I only had to give my name and address, no ID required. I offered drivers license "No, you have to tell me address"
Teenager voting for first time - everybody clapped and cheered.
I was vote #1270 on my machine, the other machine was at #1249 - included Wednesdays numbers.
2 sided ballot, fill in the circle and put in scanner.
NO receipt, or any indication of how my votes were cast.
Gobama!

DURHAM D
(32,611 posts)Today I had a doctor's appointment. The person who drew my blood was one of the people I spoke with/gave a card to yesterday. My thought - thank god it is a Democrat sticking a needle in my arm. If it was one of those angry snitty Republicans I had encountered I probably would of walked out.
Go NC.

Make it happen!
Sending good vibes from the north side of Chicago. While it's probably to be expected, I noticed, finally, today, that I have not seen a single Romney-Ryan bumper sticker or yard sign for the entire election. NOT ONE. So, yeah, north side of Chicago and all, but still. Not a single one.
Work hard DURHAM! You're saving the Republic!
