Related: About this forumNPR claimed this morning that recent polls show Romney ahead slightly in IOWA
What are they smoking? It's hardly a characterization you can make from looking at recent polling there.

(8,377 posts)They have done a better job than other networks covering issues in depth, but as far as the news cycle, they seem about as right wing as the rest of the corporate media. And make no mistake, they are CORPORATE media for sure now. They have a different funding/ownership model. They are still organized an not-for-profits, but their government funding is minimal, so now the majority of their money comes from corporations (gifts, matching grants, underwriting, and advertising spots -- or whatever NPR calls them). I thin the individual contributions make up about 20-30% of the typical NPR station budget.
And my local NPR station runs a BBC service from 11PM to 5AM. This might as well be Faux "news". Those BBC guys have been shilling for Romney every night for several months. What's up with that? Does BBC feel like they have to compete with Murdoch's right-wing Sky network?
