Bernie supporter threatens to maim Congressperson

Recently a rogue Hillary supporter was involved in shutting down some Bernie Facebook pages for a few hours. This generated a lot of discussion, despite the fact that there was no evidence that this was part of a coordinated effort. It was simply the effort of one individual (according to snopes), who was quickly banned from the groups they were boasting on. Further, the Facebook pages were shut down due to Facebook glitch, according to Sanders social media coordinator -- but that fact was ignored by Bernie supporters. So, I suppose we can make the leap and say that Bernie supporters want to cut the tongues out of Clinton-supporting superdelegates, right?

Police arrested a 27-year-old Seattle man last week for threatening a local Democratic congressman both in person and over the phone, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported.

Jasper K. Bell was charged with intimidating a public servant and telephone harassment after going to Rep. Jim McDermott’s office on April 22 and banging on the office windows. He was also reportedly seen spitting and yelling.

King County Prosecutor Susan Storey said that incident came after Bell called McDermott’s office, “demanded the congressman’s home address and threatened to cut his tongue out.”

...

Bell allegedly told officials that he was angry because a supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders’ (I-VT) was arrested at McDermott’s office earlier in the day. McDermott has endorsed Sanders’ opponent for the Democratic presidential nomination, Hillary Clinton.

Van Cleave doesn’t know when exactly someone let the air out of her tires – and if the perpetrators did it at her home or while she was running errands. But when she woke Wednesday morning, all four tires were flat.

Progressives who are disappointed in the caucuses have threatened her using sexist names over the phone, by email and online.

On the state party’s Facebook page, someone posted a message to the party leaders saying Van Cleave should be burned alive.

...

Rothfuss and state Rep. Charles Pelkey, D-Laramie, both posted on Facebook, contending that Van Cleave was doing her job and accusing her harassers of acting like Donald Trump supporters.

Minnesota delegate - "Some of the (phone and email) messages called me names. Some of them called Hillary names. And others said I was a stupid bitch and something bad will happen to me," said Schumacher, a Democratic committee member. "It's kind of hard to take sometimes."

Another superdelegate, a personal injury attorney, saw his business’ Yelp page inundated by irate Sanders supporters telling him he “deserved” the negative rating simply for being a superdelegate.

Society has been trying to deal with High School bullies and the same Rule should apply to your campaign and your supporters. Us active Democrats enjoy healthy discussions and debates at meetings, Caucuses and Conventions but it is unacceptable for us to get harassing communications from bullies. As a Clinton supporter, I have not received harassing phone calls but it does appear women DNC Members are getting the brunt of the threats. Professionally, campaign staff and representatives should be the ones calling delegates. A 12 year old child answering the phone at home should not be hearing threats.

I just can't wrap my brain around this. I'd understand if this was a Trump supporter, but.....
