6. The Clintons are vindictive. They're already set to shut him of any speaking slot

I suspect Bernie already knows they're going to do their level best to destroy him career wise.

He had the audacity to challenge her.

Might as well stay in and try to create a revolution.

"Our friends on the left" is the common put down whenever a neoliberal corporate policy is opposed.

You'll be hearing a lot of that if she gets elected

9. Sanders success is running against the likes of Clinton

There is nothing they can do to him politically (or economically).

I won't put past them to be vindictive and hurt his supporters though. I could see as part of grand bargain cutting education grants, taking away financing for public clinics, cutting Medicare, and "strengthening" SS by cutting it.

13. Clinton does not wish to adopt any of his policies or otherwise move further to the left ...

... and it seems to be quite fine by her supporters that she is this corporatist centrist. She is most certainly not some type of liberalized progressive in any traditional sense.

It seems that Bernie wishes to muster whatever political capital and delegates he has earned and use them to influence the Democratic platform at the time of the convention. Presumably, he would push for things like $15/hr minimum wage, getting money out of politics, and a reduction in the reach of these awful global trade deals.

However, Clinton and the DLC do not want this in any way. So by belittling Bernie and his supporters, and otherwise attempting to prove that she does not need our votes, she does not need any of the tenets of Bernie's platform.

In other words, if you're kind of out there on the left like I am, this party has left us for good. That would be three consecutive Democratic administrations that are/were more concerned about corporations than people.
