Politico Bait & Switch, What is a Moderate, Let's Blame Liberals, and a surprise for Bernie?

Last edited Fri Apr 29, 2016, 06:05 PM - Edit history (5)

Politico has an interview with Larry Wilmore and bills it as: Larry Wilmore really likes Bernie Sanders, is okay with Hillary Clinton ...

You listen to it and Wilmore about Bernie: oh yeah what is there not to like about Bernie as a guy. He and the interviewer then goes on and and on about Clinton, about how she is really a moderate. Poor Hillary she gets punished for being a moderate. They have been pushing her to the left and she is not comfortable which is why she is coming across as inauthentic (though in her earlier career she was a progressive). She was pushed to be a hawk (because poor Hillary didn't want to appear weak). But someone pointed out she really was a hawk because of the liberal interventionist mindset (because remember she use to be a liberal and liberals are BIG war hawks). And as a senator for NY we can't blame her for her war vote, she was privy to information... (Hmmm... I guess it had nothing to do with not wanting to appear weak for a future presidential run). There were a lot more excuses bringing to mind oh what tangled webs we weave...

After all of their rah, rah, Clinton, they say they don't have a horse in the race. He doesn't know who he will vote for but he .....doesn't think he will have to?

Oh and Wilmore, who will be speaking at the AP Whitehouse Correspondents Dinner doesn't expect any of the candidates to be there. He doesn't think the Clintons are going to be there (must have made sure to find that out). He doesn't think Bernie will be there (but he will). And they went on about how Seth Meyer was saying stuff about Trump when he was in the audience (and the great footage that was provided). I wonder whose idea it was to invite Bernie? Hmm... cut footage? Oh and he has people sending him in jokes... And he really wanted the AP gig and would like to have Clinton on the show...

So what is a moderate:

Does a moderate support the TPP that will:

make it easier for big corporations to ship our jobs overseas, pushing down our wages and increasing income inequality,
flood our country with unsafe imported food,
jack up the cost of medicines by giving big pharmaceutical corporations new monopoly rights to keep lower cost generic drugs
off the market,
empower corporations to attack our environmental and health safeguards,
ban Buy American policies needed to create green jobs,
roll back Wall Street reforms,
sneak in SOPA-like threats to Internet freedom,
and undermine human rights.

Does a moderate support fracking even though it is bad for our environment and drinking water?

Does a moderate support a non livable wage?

Does a moderate support a health insurance system that rewards health insurance companies resulting in the U.S. paying more for healthcare than any other country with an ever decreasing quality of care.

Does a moderate support standing up for the 1% rather than middle-class and poor?

Does a moderate support an energy system based on fossil fuels?

Does a moderate support our current system that rewards predatory colleges and leaves students with a lifetime debt burden?

Does a moderate support our children having a lower standard of living than their parents?

Is a moderate against gay marriage?

Did the interviewer ask Wilmore what he meant by moderate? Of course not. Will they ask Clinton?

1. Hillary is a conservative, masquerading as a Democrat.

And if they ask her anything at all, they won't get anything at all from her. Better than lying, I suppose.

6. I realized, a while ago, that there is absolutely no sane reason to care about being blamed

for anything like that. What are they gonna do? I don't need or want their good opinion, if they think that war and fracking and cluster bombs and the TPP and sending kids home to die and means-testing Social Security are okay. Who wants to even be around people like that? So, feh.
