Trump fear and loathing is laughable

The histrionics over Donald Trump
is just too effing funny!

The pearl clutters, nail biters,
and assorted hyper-ventilators
are amusing if not for their
penchant for FUD.

ZOMG!!!111!!11!
Trump will destroy the nation!!11!111

The president is NOT an absolute ruler.
There's this thing called "congress"
Congress can exert "influence" and assert
powers to curb or defeat many types
of presidential overreach.

Surely the democrats in congress
will stand up to a misguided, or worse,
presidential action, right?

They could even impeach the president
if they believe he is acting in an
immoral or unlawful manner!

We can trust the democrat in congress to
use their checks and balances prevent
a president from destroying the nation.

That said, why pretend the president
has the ability to ignore congressional oversite?

next up
SCOTUS!!!!!!!11!

Remember when Regan nominated
the conservative gas bag Scalia...
and the democrats fought tooth and nail
to defeat his unholy appointment?

Oh right, the Senate approved Scalia
93-0

Or when Democrats fought to the bitter end
against republican John Robert's appointment.
Well, at least 22 Dems voted against him.

And how about the brave democrats who
rallied to block David Souter...
all 9 of them

Well... those are just a few flukes of history.

The point is, The President ONLY
nominates the justices...
The SENATE confirms the justices.

Democrats will filibuster and work
tirelessly against any nominee who
fails to meet the "democratic" litmus test!
Fear not!

Lastly,
ZOMG!!!111!!11!
It's the end of the world!!!!11!1

It's highly unlikely that a Trump
presidency could destroy the world as we know it.
BECAUSE, his lifestyle is contingent on keeping
the status quo.

He is a NARCISSIST, not a PSYCHO/SOCIOPATH!
Does anyone actually believe a president Trump
would deliberately seek to destabilize
world governments for self aggrandizement?

Look, we were hoodwinked into an illegal
war, resulting in bottomless quagmire,
loss of thousands if not millions of lives,
the loss of billions if not a trillion dollars
of taxpayer money once already.

We are too smart to allow ourselves
to be lied into another war of choice.

AND, the democrats in congress will
undoubtedly vote against nuking Iran,
turning Syria into a Libyan-esc nightmare,
and prevent the extrajudicial murder of foreign
leaders at the hands of bloodthirsty mobs.

We've already been down that road.
As a wise profit once blathered...
fool me once, won't get fooled again!

----
So cool it with the fear and loathing to
guilt or browbeat voters into supporting
any candidate.

Show some backbone, courage and confidence
that the democrats in congress can handle this.
Congressional democrats won't let us down...
they have our backs.

Keep calm, stay rational, and vote
your values, not your fears!
Take it easy, K

Are you voting for candidates
or voting out of fear of candidates?

The hand wringing and
fear mongering is pathetic.

It plays to every stereotype
of democrats being weak-kneed,
spineless and milquetoast.

I'll be following your advice and I'll be voting not out of fear but the candidate that is the most progressive and the one that holds my beliefs. So they'll be against fracking, the TPP, capital punishment, and they will not be willing to compromise on reproductive rights.

Fuck stuff up on a biblical scale.

As in unprecedented in human history.

And unless the military itself refused to carry out whatever psychotic fantasy Rump wanted fulfilled (which would be treason, and then have to become a coup) he really could drop a nuke on some city in the Middle East, convinced that would kill ISIS.

Or some other halfwit operation that congress would have no control over.
I guess someone could give him fake nuke launch codes....

It was called Bush the Lesser, and Reagan wasn't far behind. No I don't want to do that again, but it does put things in perspective.

The candidates from the Repubs have been equally as bad as Trump ever since the Newt Gingrich era, the time for heads to explode about competency was a while back.

And I'm still not so sure that Trump isn't a false front, arranged ahead of time to make Hillary seem electable.

I'll say this though, the thing to watch is who Trump's VP choice is, because that person will be the power behind the throne, actually calling the shots, just as Cheney was to Bush Jr.

Eight years of BushCo screwed up this country on multiple fronts, and plunged us into deep holes that we're still digging out of. Trump (and the troglodytes he could appoint) will be Bush on steroids. Rational people do not want that loose cannon anywhere near the White House!

The positioning of yourself as above the fray, and taking amusement from those concerned about a Trump presidency, smacks of a self-congratulatory one-upmanship.

By your reasoning, why worry about electing any presidential candidate at all? Why put in any effort whatsoever? It's all so ho-hum. *brushes lint off lapel*

Dems haven't fought "tooth and nail" for anything -- at least they haven't since they allowed an election to be stolen in plain sight.
