Bill Maher mentioned Current in his last show. His point and mine is that it's still really hard to get on most major Cable Networks. I am extremely frustrated that my Cable Company - Charter Communications, does not offer it.

So I make do with Keith re-runs on youtube. Like a nightly hookup to a liberal dialysis machine

I REALLY MISS KEITH!

TYT - those guys are tell it like it is awesome and I've even taught myself how to pronounce Cenk's name correctly!

-90% Jimmy

PS - here's Maher's actual quote

"That channel you can only get if you pay for the 'Every damned channel ever put on cable tv' package."

His quote is not true, in my case. I don't think I could get Current on Charter if my life depended on it.

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/current-tv-announces-morning-block-with-bill-press-and-stephanie-miller/

Al Gore‘s Current TV is taking the next step toward fulfilling its promise of a 24-hour slate of progressive news and commentary with the announcement that the network will debut a morning programming block featuring progressive radio veterans Bill Press and Stephanie Miller. Beginning in early spring, Press will anchor the 6am-9am time slot, with Miller holding down the 9am-12pm hours.

Current will simulcast both hosts’ radio programs, with Press’ Current broadcast to be dubbed Full Court Press, while Miller’s show will be called Talking Liberally: The Stephanie Miller Show. Broadcasting from Los Angeles, Stephanie Miller is a well-known figure among liberals and progressives, thanks to a long broadcasting career that currently finds her on XM’s America Left.

We are the only slice of the NY Metro area that is Current-deprived.

I check the TV cable news ratings frequently. Current TV has never even appeared in the reports.

I think this is because at least up until now, they only ran news programs in the evening. They were running documentaries most of the time. Of course this should be changing.

Sadly, I bet if we did have TV ratings for the network, they would be way, way way, down. This is because they are largely unknown to the general public, and again there are entire regions of the country were the station is unavailable.

I would also love to see Ronald Reagan, Jr. on Current. Elliot Spitzer would be a great addition as well. "Friends of Current" could be people like Russ Feingold, the retiring Barney Frank and other great, popular personalities who could not commit to a regular show but make appearances as their schedules allowed.

I would love to turn on Current one day and see Jimmy Carter as a guest on Countdown. I wonder if that will ever happen?

It looks semi-pro, and even the HD cameras they use seem not top of the line. Appearances do matter, even with good substance. Perhpas this is what Keith O was bitching about. Hopefully they get to Current 3.0 soon. I do think they should keep Vanguard and putting on the best of the viewer created content. There is enough room for it. Way better than prison shows.

I'd love it on HD. U-Verse only has it on SD. THe picture isn't as good, but it's better than 90% of the other shows on TV today.
