Two Standards of Incrementalism: One for the 1% and corporations, one for the people

To see the politicians who have sold us out for personal gain and power defending their actions by trying to argue incrementalism got me to thinking about incremental change.

Incremental change has been going on for decades. However, there has been one type of incremental change for the 1% and the corporations and another type of incremental change for the people.

The first type of incremental change has reaped huge dividends for the ever wealthier 1% and the crooked government officials (while devastating the people).

Financial deregulation, tax breaks for the rich, shifting the tax burden from the federal to the local level, trade agreements that benefit multinational corporations and not the people, and a multitude of other policies that have been disastrous to the people but a boom to the greedy billionaires, and government officials that went to Washington to cash in, have all occurred incrementally (over decades). And the portion of the pie for the greedy 1% has increased year after year.

The second type of incremental change for the people has either been change in the wrong direction due to the effects of what was delivered to the 1% or change so small that the hole just keeps getting deeper. (Often it is so small because of the huge giveaways to big money backers, family, and friends included in anything provided to the people).

If our politicians delivered to their big money backers the type of incremental change (crumbs) they delivered to the people, they would never have joined the ranks of the 1%.

within that period (e.g., NAFTA), and they are getting bolder with each agreement (TISA is even worse than TPP).
