As I listened to the morning news shows, I was struck between the similarity in the parties" attempts to control the outcome of the elections. It is obvious that the Republicans would like to like to disavow Trump, but we see a different kind of control from the DNC, more nuanced, perhaps, but just as effective.
No matter what you think of the selections, aren't elections supposed to reflect the will of the voters. Makes one cynical about the democratic process,

Bernie is right that we have a rigged economy, but he should elaborate on just how it works and how bad it is.

(15,238 posts)They are out of touch the more authoritarian the more they ferment rebellion. Debbie and Reince have a lot in common in their ineffective authoritarian tactics. Democrats have done a little better holding the line that sort of resembles Party values at the risk of losing their soul (or what makes the Democratic Party). Republicans lost their soul decade ago with Nixon and Reagan. Even if Democrats and Republicans come togather the result promises to benefit the top 1% not the electorate. Vote anyway hold your nose.
