(101,355 posts)3. Notice there is not a single 'center-right' Republican left in the House
(nor, for that matter, a 'Liberal Republican', or 'Conservative Democrat', though those two types were always rarer), and the 'far right' is now over 2/3rds of the Republicans in the House, which is unprecedented (and the Democrats have never been dominated by the 'far left' in the House; there's a bunch of post-Civil War segregationist senators that are marked as 'far left', but I think 'extremist' might be a better term for them - I can hardly see them calling themselves 'socialists').
