Hillary wins in a segment of the country that is unique (and uniquely anti-progressive), but all that fits into Hillary's identity politics spectroscope is race:

Don't we agree that the Old South is a fairly unique region religiously:

Don't we agree that the Old South is a fairly unique region in its slowness to accept LGBT equality (possibly because of its religious uniqueness):

Don't we agree that the Old South is a fairly unique region in its reluctance to acknowledge collective bargaining rights:

Don't we agree that the Old South is a fairly unique region both in terms of its historical approach to education and it current approach:

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-PevJxpViUcE/U2mmb0OzPYI/AAAAAAAAHCU/0aWhygBX5gk/s1600/high+school+graduation+rates.png

Don't we agree that the Old South is a fairly unique region in terms of its poor access to health care and poor transportation to health care facilities and resulting obesity and diabetes and teen pregnancy:

http://notunlikeresearch.typepad.com/.a/6a0133f1fb8812970b014e89d296b1970d-pi

If we do not agree that the Old South is a unique region with special gifts and special needs, we are fooling ourselves.

We need to address the Old South as a political region that has unique strengths and unique requirements, but we also need to accept that political ideas that are suited to the Deep South will not necessarily carry the same weight outside of the Deep South:

Lyndon Johnson passed the Voting Rights Act

But, of course, you know that.

Had the graph shown Sanders in a more positive image you would have embraced it.

Yes, attracting mostly white is not a positive image. Not if one calls himself a Democrat. Which, of course, he is not.

This is why the results of W.VA are not surprising. Obama lost it in 2008 and Sanders is winning now.

Clearly, low education and other factors are strong correlations to higher Hillary support.

She's a very weak and damaged candidate.

We should dump her.

Everyone's vote counts equally. One person, one vote. That's a core belief for anyone claiming to want democracy. The simple fact is that Clinton is ahead in both number of votes and in delegates (both pledged and unpledged).

I like Sanders. I think his message is very important. If he wins the democratic nomination I'll gladly vote for him. It saddens me that any self-proclaimed supporter of his candidacy would make an argument like this one, which I too consider fundamentally racist. That argument tries to minimize that which we should all agree upon: that one person equals one vote - no more and no less.

You used a single data point to make support a conclusion you had already reached, and it's a narrow minded race-focused one that tries to stereotype both the candidates and the voters.

Shame on you.

And then in the face of a more sophisticated broad exposure to the range of factors, and being called out for being narrow in mind, you double down and attack the person pointing out the person pointing out your failure for the very bias you exhibit.

Double shame on you and goodbye.

I have nothing to hide and understand people are human and have bias's and are fucked up on some things like we all are.

I'm delighted that both democratic candidates connect with people of all types.

It does bother me though, when anyone makes the 'argument' that someone who is winning in total votes should be dumped as a candidate because some of their votes were from 'low information' voters or some argument of that variety. I know you don't make that kind of argument.

I like your posts. I recall you posting something a while back about how you were participating in a caucus. Good for you! I'd like to read an account of that process if you ever posted it anywhere. I support letting everyone vote and support Sanders continuing vigorously campaigning until every person has been able to vote.

... called Obama niggerized last year stump for him in front of mostly white IA and NH and then disapeer West in the southern states where there were more PoC.

Or his interview in 14 where he intimated racial issues "aren't important" either, this same interview he was spouting about the DNC winning back the working class white votes!!!

Sanders is losing in diverse areas because he didn't bother to try and connect until earlier this year

Placing a phony racial overlay on what is an ideological divide only makes sense if you believe that identity politics triumph over policy and ideology, which is a Clintonian view of the world that sickens me.
