Conservative Columbus Dispatch endorses--Sherrod Brown!

This is a paper that hasn't gone for a Dem presidential candidate since 1916, but Mandel is too much for them to swallow.

For U.S. Senate
Brown’s experience makes him the better choice for voters

In the race for U.S. senator for Ohio, The Dispatch favors Democratic incumbent Sherrod Brown. Though his challenger, Republican state Treasurer Josh Mandel, brings youthful energy to the contest, his limited experience — city councilman, two terms in the Ohio House and less than one term as treasurer — can’t compare to the nearly four decades of public service that Brown brings to the job.

The only thing I am amazed at is that Brown isn't polling 40 points ahead of him.

Mandel said he would like to close our bases in Germany--apparently unaware that they are our evac military hospitals (among other things) and vital to any missions in the middle east. He has also ignored his current job in favor of running for the Senate, after promising not to do that. A promise it took him six whole weeks to break.
