Latest PA polls showing Obama up 3-5% which is too much to flip in a week. The last Minnesota poll that I saw today had Obama up 8......I think Mitt is hoping for a miracle.

I think PA is a mess. I live in the heart of the anthracite region. Some would refer to it as Pennsyltucky... The Obama campaign has done next to nothing around here. Maybe it's just the local democratic committees that are failing us. We have minimal phone banking, next to no door to door and the road side signs are non existent. I had to buy some signs and put them out around my area myself. That gets kind of expensive.

Everywhere I drive there are Romney signs and other local GOP signs. Everywhere! I get the feeling we have been overlooked and I wouldn't be surprised if there are some last minute shifts in the polls that favor Romney. Top of mind is everything and the TV ads aren't stacking up in Obama's favor either.

I agree with your assessment. Another thing that many overlook is the mess around Philly. If our margins are down in that region, we could definitely lose the state.

If you were to come to my part of PA, you could easily miss the fact that there is a Presidential OR Senatorial campaign going on, and it's not because the signs blew away! If you look closely you can see that there IS a Presidential and Senatorial campaign on and that some guy named Romney is the Repub for Pres. and that somebody named Smith is running for Senate. You would have no idea who either one of them is running against. And this is in the Phila suburbs, which tend to swing frequently. I hope this works as planned.

I am from Pittsburgh. If you live in T as you say, those parts of PA didn't vote for PBO the last time and will not this time either. They have to carry Philly which they will to win.

Worrying about this will do no good.

Thank you for all you have done!!!

Michigan has the same issue with R-Money as Ohio does the auto industry bailout.
Let Detroit go bankrupt isn't a winning slogan for R-MONEY.
Obama put tariffs on Chinese TIRES, ALUMINUM, STEEL, SOLAR PANELS. to help keep those industries competetive and viable in US and protecting those jobs in midwestern states like PA. The Chinese brought up their currency slightly, three times under Obama, something you never hear about.

It is no where near what is going on in New Jersey....

"All told, more than 828,000 Peco customers lost power since 4 a.m. Monday.

By 8 p.m. Tuesday, the latest figures available, the number of customers in the dark had been reduced to 466,000, including 60,000 in Philadelphia who were still without service.

"They are rough estimates. We may have restored power to some customers and we may have seen additional outages throughout the day on Tuesday as the storm was ending," Williamson said."

That was from the Phillynews.com the Enquirer's website that was posted this morning.

The damage in the Philly area was considerable, but they are working on getting it fixed. It is nothing like NJ or NY.

Yes, there may not be many street signs......but elections are not won by street signs.

If all the polls are wrong, Romney could win PA. But I don't see that happening. And it not be because there were no ads or no street signs. There were no ads, because both sides ruled it out of play. Why would you want PBO to spend money in a state that everyone (including the other side) are telling you that you have it won?

...the thing about MI and PA is that, even though we've won both of those states in the last five (5) elections, the results are typically close, the vast rural areas always vote Republican, but the few urban areas are just enough to offset it. Basically, if Philadelphia and Detroit suddenly vanished, those states would definitely lean red.

Look, every *presidential* election year, the pundits try to tell us that PA will be a swing state, and it never is. Since 1992, PA has voted for the Democrat for president, sure by smaller margins, but a win is a win.
