2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forum"It's her turn"
I think this particular meme pisses me off the most.
It absolutely shrieks entitlement and privilege.

(26,060 posts)the only ones USING that phrase are Bernie supporters so you can spare everyone the faux outrage.

(474 posts)in my district, 600 people showed up, and it was put forth as a reason for her to be chosen. not by any young people tho

Only took 30 seconds on Google to find these and many more.

(26,060 posts)Both you and the OP are SICK AND TIRED of hearing about it being her turn and your evidence for that happening ALL THE TIME are two stories - one over a year old and one over 2 years old. Are you sure you're comfortable with everyone knowing that you both are so easily rattled that you can't get over some thing said OVER A YEAR OR TWO AGO? Looks pretty pathetic and laughable to me.

You might deny it, but this actually originated WITH THE CAMPAIGN. The corollary to that is "I'm with her."

(37,748 posts)Both a creative and a convenient allegation. No doubt, we all of us pretend to hear things which better validate our biases.

(26,060 posts)to supply the links to known Hillary supporters who have used it. I'll wait.

(9,766 posts)One person from over a year ago is still pissing you off so much you had to post a thread about it. I think it's pathetic but whatever.

(37,748 posts)The irrational often hold to the aberration rather than the statistical standard to better maintain the pretense they know of what they speak...
nadinbrzezinski
(154,021 posts)and party activist in the flesh... not online, in the flesh I asked her what other reasons she is voting for HRC. I was scared because those are not reasons to vote for anybody, "It's her turn and I want a woman president in my lifetime." That is the policy statement of the year....not.
That was from a party activist. And she is not alone. I have heard this from plenty of HRC supporters, and read it here from Bernie supporters and HRC supporters, both. Who do I take as more valid? The people in the flesh, or people online? This is a very serious question by the way.
It reminds me of a few other election cycles and not precisely in a nice way.

(13,991 posts)Clinton supporters actually say that? I think I heard it a couple of times in 2008 from PUMAS, but I honestly haven't heard it this time from anyone but Sanders supporters saying that Clinton supporters say it. I could be wrong but I just haven't seen it.

Think about it, fits right in there.
To work it needs gullible, selfish and often childish people to be believable

(13,877 posts)Wonder why no one else jumped in the race? It took a former Independent to remind the faithful that the Empress hath no Ethical Clothes. Well, maybe some clothes, but since the Clintons get away with all manner of personal behavior and political control measures, why would anyone think this would be different? Establishment Superdelegates and all. I get it.
So here comes Bernie...with some inconvenient facts. Not so much about Hillary, but about the Establishment and the Brick Financial Wall of questionable ethics and protection they enjoy. Much of the same could be said about other "insiders" as well. They just aren't running for president. It's indeed rigged. And who wants to unrig a system that is providing handsome incomes and power...both sides of the aisle? It is no longer just a political issue. It's a Class Issue.
How that will play out, really and truly, no one knows. "3 million votes ??? and umpteen Superdelegates."
But the genie won't go back in the bottle.
Truman's quote seems appropriate...
"I never did give anybody hell. I just told the truth and they thought it was hell." Harry S Truman

(31,517 posts)I see someone on this thread found a quote, but that doesn't mean that every Hillary supporter heard it.
libdem4life
(13,877 posts)I'll shorten it...tlhe Clintons have made sure no one in the Dem Party opposed her. How? Probably the same way she got the SOS job. 25 years worth of political dossiers and pressure....and that includes the amazing carpet bagging selection as NY Senator.
She's been enabled and propped up by men her entire career. The only real election she lost. I'm sure they think the FBI and legal system will just move her right along, as well.
Bernie didn't get the email...oh, bad choice of words...message.

(146,311 posts)Can you show me any evidence that Hillary Clinton or any of her campaign leaders have said any such thing? How about DUers who support Clinton? I've not seen any.
I've seen you use it many times, though, during the primary race.

So far the only evidence turned up is a story from over a year ago and heresay from over 2 years ago. But the poor little snowflakes are sooooooooo sick and tired of hearing about it that the attack of the vapors continue after all that time. This couldn't possibly get more pathetic, could it?

(9,766 posts)I have never, not once outside of this thread used that term in this context before. Ever.
You Googled the phrase and my name and got a bunch of results where OTHERS said it, not me. And many of them are completely out of context. Like 'every time it's her turn to speak, she...'
Pathetic.
