Hillary needs 309 PDs to become the presumptive nominee, the earliest she can clinch: June 7; 11 pm

She has 1,717 pledged delegates. She needs 309 more to secure the pledged delegate majority of 2,026.

Mathematically, it is impossible for her to do it before June 7, which is essentially the last day of voting.* There are at least 25 more days of this Primary. Unless and until one of the candidates secures 2,026 pledged delegates or one concedes, there is no presumptive nominee.

All you itching and moaning for Bernie to drop out, just relax. In 25 days one of them will secure a majority of the pledged delegates and become the presumptive nominee.

*After June 7, only DC is left, on June 14 with 20 pledged delegates in play.

Though in all likelyhood it will happen on June 7, but it could happen tomorrow.

She would need 74% of the remaining PDs to do it.

If you want to count super delegates and are looking for the 2,383 total delegates number, that is a different question and not a very meaningful one. The race is to 2,026 pledged delegates, since neither will hit 2,383 through pledged delegates alone. The pledged delegate winner will rely on the super delegates to bridge the gap to 2,383. Regardless, HIllary's total delegate count, including supers, is 2,219. She needs 164 more to hit 2,383. There are 183 pledged delegates up for grabs between now and June, of which she will take approximately half. There are 170 supers who have not endorsed. It would be foolish for her to announce presumptive nominee status based on the supers before the pledged delegate winner is known, though, so the 2,383 number is meaningless until a candidate becomes the pledged delegate winner.
