2016 Postmortem
Related: About this forumBernie will be working his ass off to stop Drumpf.
But will it be an uphill battle given so many of his supporters dont care if Drumpf is elected?
I know Bernie, well I know somebody who knows him, and my friend assures me Bernie will be ADAMANT about stopping Drumpf.
Not sure what he will do at the convention if he loses, but it will be a plea to his supporters to support HIM in defeating Drumpf.

(80,708 posts)Seriously. What the fuck.
Did you understand what I just wrote? If I say that I dont believe there are shitloads of Sanders supporters who dont care if Trump is elected, how the everloving FUCK does that make me a Trump supporter?
Please, explain your answer, and show your work.

(4,176 posts)you were demeaning what i wrote

(80,708 posts)Cool story, bro.
Because that is a bullshit assertion. Demeaning it? Fuck yes, it is worthy of demeaning. You are demeaning a lot more with that assertion you pulled out of ...wherever.
Ive been here for 12 years, mr. Wilson, and I have been a Loyal Democrat for far longer. So in short, sir, no, i am not a fucking trump supporter. fuck.

(4,176 posts)I wish you were right , but no, you are not.
If you dont vote for the Dem in Nov you ARE admitting you dont care if he is elected, it is THE DEFINITION OF it for krist sake

(68,582 posts)When he loses the primary in early June after the last primary...he better get out. Or it matters not what he does; his career will be over...He has already caused us much trouble. I blame Bernie for lying to his supporters and making excuses for his losses.

(2,052 posts)In 2008, I was very involved in the Edwards campaign. Was in the same car on the way to events. Was traveling all around.
And then he broke my heart along with those who trusted him with their livelihood and their time/efforts.
I was MIA and refused to get anywhere near a campaign until this year.
Caused us much trouble? Bernie Sanders brought me back into the fold and I am happy about it every day. And my story is not unique. The only people who he has caused trouble to are those who wanted a quick and painless trip to the convention.
For that trouble, I am sorry
EDIT: He has not lied to his supporters once. Not a single time. I would like proof of that. And excuses for losses? He isn't the only one questioning voter suppression, so it's not just him

(4,667 posts)However, I think Bernie is a known quality, and thats good.
Hillary is obviously hiding a great deal. Look at how much of her campaign is dedicated to what Robert J. Lifton calls "thought terminating cliches" to prevent any kind of discussions.

(2,052 posts)And John devastated me. I thought he was the one.
But Bernie gave me hope in a different way. I had become resigned like many that single payer and tuition free college (Edwards actually floated this in 04) and paid family leave were just off the table. He gave me some hope again.
To your point, "thought terminating cliches" is a perfect description.

Not ADAMANT if he will only do it if he is the nominee.

(45,319 posts)Trump, literally. So when your candidate Hillary Clinton was attending Donald's wedding, I already refused all Trump custom, and I had opportunity to refuse it. Trump is a toxin, so was his father, this is not some new development and yet many people cavorted with him as if he was not a villain from a line of villains. I did no such thing.
Hillary did.

(45,319 posts)I think coyness looks shabby on adults Jackie. I challenged your characterization of Sanders supporters, I said nothing about the GE, my State is holding a primary right now. So let me repeat, while Hillary was playing patsy cake with Donald, I already knew he was a racist creep and treated him accordingly. She did not. This is part of why I oppose her in the ongoing Primary contest.
I assume that you never paid Trump any attention until this primary cycle.
So why are you smearing Sanders supporters in this manner?

Know about Bernie longer than most here too.
Supported Bernie longer than most here too.
Like Bernie, will do everything in my human power to elect Hillary if need be.
But yeah, was denouncing and talking about Trump for almost 20 years.
Heard the stories about him so long ago it was before I knew much about him at all. Will never forget those stories.

(36,926 posts)I think this primary has gone to his head, and he's become power mad. Not the first time in history that such a thing has happened. Plus I believe that his money grubbing staff keep feeding his ego, in order to keep the gravy train rolling their way.
