Related: About this forumWhy doesn't Sanders focus the rest of his campaign on Donald Trump...
...if he wants to show he's the better candidate?
He could start by going after Trump for not releasing his tax returns...

(2,546 posts)It's NOT about the math... It's about which candidate is best suited to defeat Trump. Bernie is the ONLY candidate that fits that model.

(29,715 posts)I would think he would think ahead and work on the Republicon nominee if he had greater plans.

(454 posts)He hasn't secured the nomination, why act like your the nominee when you are not the nominee?
KingFlorez
(12,689 posts)Considering that going after Clinton already damaged him, there really is no good reason for him to keep going after her.
JPnoodleman
(454 posts)Perhaps when he is the nominee he can't focus on the shit show that is Trump.
Besides? Why are you worried? Isn't Hillary's appeal that she uber electable? Isn't Trump supposed to be easy pickings?

(12,689 posts)It just seems like Sanders would have learned his lesson about attacking Clinton after New York. Apparently he hasn't, which is perfectly fine with me.

(454 posts)Jesus, if Clinton can't handle Sanders, Trump will eat her alive.

(27,814 posts)Given her lead in votes and delegates, it would seem apparent that she's "handling" him quite well.

(47,803 posts)He goes after Trump already -- but he is also campaigning for the nomination and -- more importantly -- to keep the issues alive that go beyond what a jackass Trump is.
Those include the obscene concentration of wealth and power, the erosion of tghe middle class, trade and the need for a revitalization of truly progressive liberalism.
If Bernie stops campaigning for those issues they disappear, and we revert back to the usual shallow stereotypes and celebrity politics.

Besides, this is the Democratic Party primary and Sanders has said for decades that he's NO Democrat (even though he was forced to register as one for New Hampshire).
We should take his word on it.

(45,088 posts)campaign against each other until one candidate wins the nomination of that party. Then in the GE, which is the General Election, they campaign against the winner of the other party's primary. Since the democratic primary is not yet over and we so not have a nominee Bernie is at this time campaigning against the other candidate on the democratic primary.
