Branded

The current school of political thought/strategy, is the market/branding formula.
It's not just a formula though, it's a mindset and lens through which the ruling elite
see the world. Outcomes aren't required to be substantive or enduring or even
humane. They don't need to be anchored in values or ideologies. They simply
need to sell. Once the candidate is 'sold' to the public the brand is deemed successful.
It's about manipulation and winning and profits. And generally any means toward
that end, be it overt, covert, legal or criminal, is considered 'just business'. And any
collateral damage, though unfortunate, is simply the cost of doing business.

So the political process itself is the embodiment of everything people want to change.
It is capitalism's dark side incentivized purely by how to sell the electorate on a 'brand'.

That's one reason why people feel disenfranchised (another market term) and want to get
beyond party politics as usual. People naturally move away from various forms of mind control
and slavery, so it's not at all surprising that the REAL basis of the current revolution/movement is not as much about politics or policy but about reclaiming one's own Truth and moving toward authenticity
(an advertiser's nemesis). People KNOW they are seen as 'consumers' by the establishment ...consumers of information, consumers of products and consumers of political advertising rhetoric. People know they are being unwillingly corralled and cast as actors in a reality not of their choosing, and they want to pull back the curtain to reveal the machinations of the lie.

The plantation owners are STILL invested in maintaining their slave economy in the name of competition and control. They are simply changing the package and creating the illusion of choice.

It's nearly impossible for the establishment to change because they are so
locked into this whole way of viewing and interacting with the world.

Perhaps as people are continually forced to fall back on their own truth to counteract the lies,
there will be an unanticipated outcome. Like a muscle being exercised regularly
that inner voice and compass will grow in strength. Trust it.
