Ultra Pro-Bernie Backer Robert Reich Feels the Wrath of Sanders Supporters for Preaching Unity

I see these comments over and over on du!

"called a “fake progressive,” “shill for Hillary” or accused of being on the Clinton payroll by Bernie Sanders supporters for daring to prefer Hillary Clinton over their candidate."

Ultra Pro-Bernie Backer Robert Reich Feels the Wrath of Sanders Supporters for Preaching Unity

May 21, 2016

By Allen Clifton

Hardly a day goes by where I don’t get called a “fake progressive,” “shill for Hillary” or accused of being on the Clinton payroll by Bernie Sanders supporters for daring to prefer Hillary Clinton over their candidate. Even though as I’ve said on numerous occasions, I like both candidates – I simply prefer Clinton. Not only that, but I’ve also repeatedly said that my top goal in 2016 was to make damn sure Republicans don’t win the White House, and I’ve pushed “vote blue, no matter who” for well over a year now. With literally millions of lives at stake this election, this country cannot allow the GOP to win the White House.

That being said, I have spent the better part of the last year dealing with rabid Sanders supporters. While I know the vast majority of those who support the Vermont senator are reasonable and rational people (thank you all, by the way), there’s a small, yet influential, grouping of Sanders people who I actually feel have hurt Bernie this past year. I’ve dealt with Republicans for years, but I think many of these more radical Sanders supporters are worse than most any Republican I’ve dealt with. A perfect example of what I mean came a few weeks ago, following the Massachusetts primary, when legions of these radical Sanders backers actually bashed and attacked Sen. Elizabeth Warren because she has chosen to stay neutral and not endorse either candidate during the primary.

I think it’s a good sign that things have gone a little off the rails when a sizable chunk of someone’s supporters are so irrational that they’ll attack probably the most progressive member of the Senate – simply because she didn’t give in to their demands to endorse Bernie Sanders. Even staunch pro-Sanders advocate Bill Maher has said these “Bernie or bust” types are going to be “the death of liberals.” Well, you can now add Robert Reich, an ultra pro-Sanders supporter, to the list of people who’ve felt the wrath of this group of people after he dared to call for party unity in a recent Facebook post:...................

Probably shouldn't lift Clifton's head lead to appear as though Robert Reich is the writer.

Clifton is the Clinton supporter in this case.

So I agree, Reich is not the whiner here.

Those comments are tough, but fine. Reich and Warren understand where they come from and they aren't trying to demonize Bernie supporters like schmucks like Allen Clifton.
