Army Of Sanders Supporters Fuming Over Wasserman Schultz

Bernie Sanders supporters aren’t fond of Hillary Clinton.

But they really don’t like Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the Democratic National Committee chairwoman and Florida lawmaker.

Sanders supporters blame Wasserman Schultz for what they see as system rigged against their candidate and say he is being cheated by contests closed to independents and unfair weight to superdelegates.

“I think I’m honestly starting to hate @DWStweets more than @realDonaldTrump,” one Sanders supporter tweeted on Thursday, with the hashtag #FeelTheBern.

Other hashtags being used by Sanders supporters on Thursday included #DebbieDowner, #DownwithDebbie and #DumpDebbie.

The online anger erupted this week after Wasserman Schultz called on Sanders to get his supporters in line after a rowdy Nevada Democratic convention where Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) endured a hearty booing. Wasserman Schultz also criticized death threats and obscene messages left on the voicemail of the chairwoman of the Nevada state party.

Sanders was defiant and defended his supporters. While he criticized any violence in Nevada, he blamed much of the trouble on the Democratic Party.

That provoked more criticism from Wasserman Schultz.

Compare & Contrast: Why Debbie Wasserman-Schultz deserves ignominious defeat

at the hands of Tim Canova.

DSW takes big $$$ from the payday lender loan sharks, an industry so toxic that 20 states either outlaw it or sharply restrict it. Google recently barred payday loan sharks from advertising. DSW works to prevent increased regulation on these fucks, both on the federal and state level. But it couldn't possibly have anything to do with the $$$. After all, she's a Clinton dem! And like Hillary, she couldn't possibly be influenced by money.

Tim Canova only accepts small dollar donations.

DSW is strongly opposed to medical marijuana. She says it's a gateway drug and that legalizing medical marijuana will lead to fraud and abuse. She has no problem with ill medical marijuana users being sent to prison- for years.

Tim in his own words:

In Florida, I supported the 2014 medical marijuana referendum that garnered about 58 percent of the vote state-wide, falling just short of the required 60 percent mark. My opponent, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, is a drug warrior who opposed the medical marijuana referendum. Calling marijuana a “gateway” drug, she refuses to allow her constituents in South Florida, in consultation with their doctors, to decide for themselves whether to utilize this plant-based medicine to alleviate pain and other symptoms of various illnesses and the side effects of other medications

In 2008, DSW refused to endorse democratic challengers to three of the most right wing Florida republican congress critters, saying she didn't want to stab he repuke friends in the back. I mean what the fuckity fuck Fuck.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) is getting brutally walloped in the liberal blogosphere for refusing to endorse the Democratic challengers to three potentially vulnerable GOP incumbents in Florida.

Liberal bloggers are irate that Wasserman Schultz, who co-chairs the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s Red-to-Blue program, has declined to endorse the Democrats running to unseat Cuban American Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Lincoln Diaz-Balart and his brother, Mario Diaz-Balart.

Wasserman Schultz says she doesn’t want to stab GOP members of her own delegation in the back. But liberal bloggers say she’s killing her own while aiding and abetting the enemy.

Just for the record, I’m not in favor of knocking out all Republicans either — so perhaps I have a bit of the Wasserman Schultz sin in my own file. I was for instance supportive of Maryland Eastern Shore anti-Iraq war Republican Wayne Gilchrest who lost his primary battle recently.

But the Diaz-Balart brothers and Ros-Lehtinen are not moderate in any sense of the word, are embracers of Bush’s wars, and have been responsible for sustaining a counter-productive embargo of Cuba by the United States that 183 nations of the world voted against us on this past year in the United Nations.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz is helping to defend the political turf of not the best in the Republican Party — but the worst.

This is not the first time that she has put her parochial interests ahead of her party. Back in 2008, when she was running the DNC's "Red to Blue" project, she famously abstained from supporting three Democratic challengers to incumbent Republicans – the Diaz-Balart brothers and the ever-insufferable Ileana Ros-Lehtinen –friend to terrorists who blow up passenger jets – because she was friends with all three of them.

A day later, Wasserman Schultz and Ros-Lehtinen lavished compliments on each other at a Washington luncheon with Miami-Dade commissioners. "I can't say enough good things about Ileana Ros-Lehtinen; she has been my friend since I was first elected to office," Wasserman Schultz said, noting she relied on Ros-Lehtinen's advice to help balance the demands of elected office and motherhood.

You don't seem to know what the Democratic Party is supposed to represent and fight for. Bernie is a much better Dem than DWS.

Twice now, the flight of her presidential aspirations has been forced to circle the airport as other contenders put up an unexpected fight: In 2008, Barack Obama emerged to grab the Democratic nomination away and this year, although all signs point to her finally grabbing the brass ring, unexpected and powerful progressive resistance came from the mighty wind of the Bernie Sanders campaign.

Certainly, Hillary Clinton is angered by all of this, but the one seemingly more aggrieved — if public comments and private actions are any indication — is Democratic National Committee chair and Florida Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, a Hillary surrogate who takes umbrage like ordinary folks pop their vitamins in the morning.

As we recently wrote, “… She embodies the tactics that have eroded the ability of Democrats to once again be the party of the working class. As Democratic National Committee chair she has opened the floodgates for Big Money, brought lobbyists into the inner circle and oiled all the moving parts of the revolving door that twirls between government service and cushy jobs in the world of corporate influence.

And that ain’t all. As a member of Congress, particularly egregious has been her support of the payday loan business, defying new regulations from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) that would rein in an industry that soaks desperate borrowers. As President Obama said, “While payday loans might seem like easy money, folks often end up trapped in a cycle of debt.”

Down here in Florida, she openly supports her GOP cronies. And then the rest of us are ordered to always vote for the "D".

That does not fly any longer. I will be unaffiliated after the August primary. I will be voting for a progressive/liberal that Debbie DINO did not want to run at all, she favored GOP-until-2012 DINO Patrick Murphy, and the state progressive caucus was threatened with de-certification if they backed Grayson instead of Murphy, and they did not back down. Debbie is in favor of payday loans and jail time for medical marijuana users. She, and the rest of that Third Way-advised New Democrat Coalition, have taken the Democratic Party so far to the right that I do not recognize it. This has nothing to do with Bernie. Debbie has been a DINO for years.

No more DINOs. I am no longer supporting candidates just because they have a D by their name. I hope more and more of them continue to have progressive opponents for years to come.
