You think Obama won't stand behind his hand selected SoS?
Ridiculous.
senz
(11,945 posts)The NYTimes has been caught in its anti-Bernie pro-Hilary lies and the WaPo has become a joke.
That post-election deal with Hill for SOS was one of the biggest mistakes of Obama's presidency. She had no foreign policy experience and a mediocre, spotty record as a carpetbagged senator.
Obama was not happy with her as SOS but he's very happy with Kerry.

(1,000 posts)Times have changed... and radically. Since then Sanders has won the vast majority of primaries and Clinton's chance of being indicted has gone way up.
As much as you want to go down with the HMS Clinton, it's not fair to the rest of us to given Trump the easiest Presidential victory in history.

I wish I would be here in 100 years to see what History says about this President - I bet it will be pretty cool.

(12,689 posts)It's deplorable to try and mislead people. This is almost as bad as the Pope's endorsement, which was worse than the fake Elizabeth Warren endorsement.

(11,243 posts)Jesus fucking Christ there used to be some standards around this place. If you posted something misleading, even unintentionally, you EXPECTED to get your ass handed to you. It was part of what made this place interesting.
PBO is going to announce that he is endorsing BERNIE SANDERS? Before the primary is over, with almost no path to victory? On FACEBOOK? Come on!

It's GDPee. Tell your little friend to check facts first to avoid misunderstandings.

(17,651 posts)Clinton supporters are much more concerned about hurling personal insults about others' intelligence, including but not limited to Sanders and engaging in ageism and religious bigotry in the name of Clinton, Inc.

(22,336 posts)Also, quoting someone is not endorsing them. And finally, I would hope that Pres. Obama wouldn't buy into this whole "Candidate A is perfect and Candidate B is evil" garbage that seems to be the trend, and that he'd be able to reference both of them in a positive way.

(11,945 posts)Obama was going to cut SS payments to recipients, many of whom are very poor and depend on it. Don't forget that SS recipients paid into the system.
Bernie cares about poor people and knew that Obama was being pressured by Republicans to cut SS, so he wanted Obama to feel pressure from the liberal side, too.
But Bernie and Obama get along fine. Obama respects Bernie and knows he's honest and principled in ways that Hill never has been and never will be.
Good try.

Short Description
This page is dedicated to highlighting the achievements of President Barack Obama, motivating and inspiring supporters.
Long Description
Barack H. Obama is the 44th President of the United States.
His story is the American story values from the heartland, a middle-class upbringing in a strong family, hard work and education as the means of getting ahead, and the conviction that a life so blessed should be lived in service to others.
With a father from Kenya and a mother from Kansas, President Obama was born in Hawaii on August 4, 1961. He was raised with help from his grandfather, who served in Patton's army, and his grandmother, who worked her way up from the secretarial pool to middle management at a bank.
After working his way through college with the help of scholarships and student loans, President Obama moved to Chicago, where he worked with a group of churches to help rebuild communities devastated by the closure of local steel plants.
He went on to attend law school, where he became the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review. Upon graduation, he returned to Chicago to help lead a voter registration drive, teach constitutional law at the University of Chicago, and remain active in his community.
President Obama's years of public service are based around his unwavering belief in the ability to unite people around a politics of purpose. In the Illinois State Senate, he passed the first major ethics reform in 25 years, cut taxes for working families, and expanded health care for children and their parents. As a United States Senator, he reached across the aisle to pass groundbreaking lobbying reform, lock up the world's most dangerous weapons, and bring transparency to government by putting federal spending online.
He was elected the 44th President of the United States on November 4, 2008, and sworn in on January 20, 2009. He and his wife, Michelle, are the proud parents of two daughters, Malia, 14, and Sasha, 11.
