Related: About this forumSanders names Cornel West, Keith Ellison to DNC platform committee
Top Bernie Sanders supporters Dr. Cornell West and Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) will be among those on the Democratic Party's important Platform Drafting Committee after the Vermont senator won a key concession as he looks to leave his mark on the party's platform.
The roster of the drafting committee, released by the Democratic National Committee on Monday, reflects the party's agreement that Sanders would have five supporters on the committee, compared to six for Hillary Clinton.
Sanders previously panned DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who appoints all of the committee members, for failing to include enough of his supporters on an initial list. But the latest statement notes that Wasserman Schultz allocated the campaign's seats "proportionally according to the current vote tally."
Along with West and Ellison, Sanders supporters on the committee are author Bill McKibben, Arab American Institute head James Zogby and Native American activist Deborah Parker.

DNC does this and they print out the Democrats gave in to his demand. So fuckin gracious. The sanders says his people are working people, like all the rest of us don't do shit.
He is just about insulting. Putting West in is clear his intent. All we do is stand back, let the fire works happen, the show, the entertainment, in all what I expect will be nasty, ... Then we adults take control of the situation, reign it in and move on from there.
I am truly becoming disgusted with the show. But... Just another little while.

(1,258 posts)Verifiable vote counting and EZ voting (enough machines, long hours, multi day voting, EZ same day registration, uniform party affiliation and changing affiliation procedures, etc).
Verifiable vote counting, paper trails and mandatory Public Viewing hand audits are the most important. Required exit polls and follow up investigations when they don't match the vote counting within the margin of error (or if the error always goes to one candidate even if it is within the moe). We need our democracy back.
Also ending the war on drugs (starting with anybody in jail for nonviolent drug possession) and letting all Felons regain voting privileges.
And something about a public option for healthcare and something to relieve college debt.
And, finally, overturning Citizens United. Corporations are not people. Billionaires should not dictate policy through their donations.
