In the State of Idaho and Utah, almost every new high, middle, or grade school that is built, even in the middle of nowhere has a Mormon Church constructed right next door so the kids can go off to seminary rather than socialize with the other kids after school and during study breaks at school. Every day as parents are dropping kids off at sometimes two or three different schools each with their very own large white spikey spired structure, there they are faced with reminders of the invasiveness of this religion. When Romney dies and goes off to his own planet with all the wives his religion promises I bet he will be laughing at the naivety of this nation.

(14,157 posts)The HS was under renovations and adding new buildings and there was no place to park on campus. The mormons have a real big parking lot, but with access control for only mormon kids and teachers to park.

(10,580 posts)Every LDS youth that is high school aged is encourage to attend an hour of scripture study a day durring school. In Utah and some high Mormon areas the students use their free period for this, other places have "early morning seminary" which means you go before school.

(4,310 posts)I would come downstairs each morning and find his Mormon friend asleep on my couch.
He'd leave his house, come over to mine and get a couple hours of extra sleep. His Mother
would have been furious but I'd never tell.

One reason they are building these temples next to the schools.

Curiously, while other churches rarely have such problems, They aren't allowed within that perimeter of a public school.
It's really sad to say this, but those who preach the most about sin seem to be the ones most likely to commit said sins.

(24 posts)Maybe Bill Maher will see this thread! I have thought about taking photos of them as there are at least 30 examples within an hour radius of our home and sending them to Real Time. I wish I would have done it a month ago.

(24 posts)Every new school in our area (and there are at least 20) has a Mormon church right next door. I understand that they go to seminary but their are a myriad of issues here including placing a building next to the school that conducts services several times a week has a few hundred people visiting it, several of whom could be child predators. Then there is the issue of the Mormon's non-participation with non-Mormon activities while trying to entice non-Mormon kids into the seminary so they can be with their friends and thus work on getting them into the church. This starts at a very early age even in grade school. I teach and I hear this all the time from the non-mormon kids I teach and it is very troubling. This is a cult like religion and it is stunning to me that we could be looking at a president from this faith leading our nation and that it is not a larger topic of concern.
